The use of power is a symbol of human civilization into a new era,with the gradual development of modernization,automation, the dependent on humans for electric power is stronger and stronger. Nowadays, the power has become a human life, essential for the production of primary energy. Electric energy can be used more widely and frequently makes effective management of electric energy and electrical safety has become a key problem concerned electric process.In this paper, we proposed the electric parameter on-line monitoring system of equipment and fault diagnosis system of electric arc after analyzed the general electric monitoring system and researched the electric energy data acquisition and communication protocol. The system consists of power online monitoring and the arc fault diagnosis of the power distribution cabinet.Electric parameter on-line monitoring of equipment is the application of communication technology, the electric parameter collected at the scene is transmitted to the host computer monitoring, to realize the data remote measurement, transmission, control, regulation. It’s convenient for management personnel to monitor and manage the electrical equipment of the distal end. It consists of field layer, network layer, supervision layer. The field layer collected the power parameters and arc sound data in power distribution cabinet; The network layer transmit the data to supervision layer by using the RS485 bus and the TCP/IP network protocol; The supervision layer through remote, real-time monitoring of energy consumption information PC interface is written in LabVIEW, to facilitate the supervision level master energy field, and make the corresponding adjustment.The traditional way to detect the arc in power distribution cabinet is to monitor the waveform deformity changes of voltage and current,but it has a high requirements for equipment and the operation is complex. The system use the method by detecting the physical phenomenon of the arc when it occurs. The research shows before the advent of arc there will hiss in the power line. So the system use the method by detecting the switch cabinet sound, once detected the sound that same with the arc, sound the alarm notification management personnel, and make corresponding measures to protect the equipment.
