In railway operation, railway maintenance machinery is regularly maintenanced and repaired railway. Especially the railway has experienced four large-scale speed and high-speed railway has been popular, railway maintenance is more important.This subject comes from project of the Chinese railway construction of high-tech equipment Limited by Share Ltd-"Development of Efficient Vibrating Screen". In the working process,vibrating screen of the whole section ballast cleaning machine has the disadvantages of low screening efficiency, affecting the efficiency of the whole machine.To improve the screening efficiency of vibrating screen, the paper established virtual prototype of vibrating screen and its feeding system. And the working process was simulated and the process parameters were optimized by numerical simulation. The main research results are as follows:Discrete element simulation is conducted in the screening process of vibrating screen. To observe the situation of the deposits under the sieve, the deposits is a kind of paraboloid. The highest point of the deposits is near feed end. Most of material is completed the screening thoroughly in near feed end. The impact of material on the sieve surface is more frequent and larger, so the sieve is easy to produce fatigue and even breaks.The influence of process parameters on screening efficiency of vibrating screen is analyzed by using the control variable method and the spherical particle model. Sieve surface is divided into many regions, then the number of particles in each area of the sieve surface was counted at a certain moment.The relationship between the distribution of the particles in the screen surface and the efficiency of screening is analyzed.Lots of sets of simulation experiments were carried out to study the function model of process parameters and screening efficiency by using the non-spherical particle model. The data were processed by multivariate nonlinear regression with MATLAB software, finally, the function formula between the screening efficiency of vibrating screen and the process parameters was obtained.The optimization toolbox of MATLAB is used to optimize the process parameters on the basis of the function formula between the efficiency of the vibrating screen and the vibration parameters. Finally, the optimal process parameters are obtained and verified in simulation experiments.Through the study of this subject, it can provide a valuable reference to the study of screen, the choice of parameters of vibration screen and the design and improvement of vibration screen.
