Smart grid has the following characteristics:a high level of integration, economy, high efficiency and resource structure optimization, good compatibility, self-healing capability. The smart grid received welcome all over the world. In many countries, the construction of smart grid is one of the goals of the current development. Intelligent energy meter as the key equipment in the process of electricity power companies side management, it is a key equipment in the real-time accurate measurement electricity, realize data sharing, intelligent scheduling and other applications, has played an important role in the whole smart grid construction. Smart meter technology research to accelerate the upgrading of smart grid, it has a positive impact on the construction of the smart grid with high integration, good economy, high efficiency, optimization of resource structure, good compatibility and strong self healing power.The traditional mechanical energy meter has defects in design, which can not meet the needs of the smart grid in the aspects of data sharing, structure optimization and so on, with the development of microelectronic technology, the intelligentenergy energy meter based on microprocessor technology provides a technical basis for the realization of smart grid. Based on an in-depth analysis of the current research status of smart grid and smart meters in China, Designed with intelligent measurement, data sharing and other functions of intelligent three-phase power meter hardware and software system design.The main content of the work done are:1. Introduced the background and significance of the research, summarizes the intelligent energy meter development status and direction, through the intelligent electric energy meter measurement, metering algorithm research, this paper expounds the intelligent energy meter used in the calculation of the active without power, calculation of voltage and current RMS value, to calculate apparent in the work rate of the algorithm.2. For the overall program design and press the functional requirements analysis and design of each hardware circuit unit, which is divided into data processing unit, power supply unit, the internal storage unit, a communication interface unit and a clock unit and so on. Through each module unit circuit analysis and design, implementation is consistent with the functional requirements of meter and reliable smart meter hardware circuits.3. Design the intelligent watt-hour meter software system, It includes interaction of human-computer interaction module, data communication module, measuring module, data storage unit, time unit, and many other key module intelligent watt-hour meter.4. Test of intelligent energy meter’s function and performance. The experimental results show that the electric energy meter to meet the needs of users, its measurement is accurate. It features flexible, it can meet the requirements of the automatic measurement system, to adapt to the intelligent energy meter of the future development of the market demand.5. The intelligent energy meter in power network, the use of intelligent energy meter design of anti theft system. The system has been well applied in many places, which provides an important data support for the containment and fight against crime.This paper implemented smart meter terminal has been put into operation, the system is stable, has a good performance. Smart meter terminal cost-effective, has a certain economic benefits.
