Streptomyces 702 was isolated from soil by the Applied Microbiology Laboratory of Biological Engineering of Jiangxi Agricultural University, the bioactive compound produed by which showed strong inhibitory action to both bacterias and fungus. The numerical taxonology methods were used on study of strain identification. The monomeric fraction was isolated, purified from the zymotic fluid of Streptomyces 702. And its chemical structure was identified. Methods and results above-mentioned were conclude as follow:1. To indentify Streptomyces padanus strain 702 produced new antibiotics. Morphology of colonies and myceliums, physiological, biochemical properties, chemical composition of the cell wall and 16S rDNA sequence analysis were studied as means for Streptomyces 702 identification. Its colony was yellow or Navajo white, with yellow water-soluble pigments diffusing. Aerial mycelium was developed. The spore chains were spirals type, tightly coiled or slighty open, with two to five turns per chain. The spores were ovoid. Their surfaces were smooth. Cell wall was of type I. And its sequence was 99% identical to Strepomyces padanus. Streptomyces 702 was identified as Strepomyces padanus.2. To idenfity the chemical structure of antifungal activity monomeric fraction produced by Streptomces 702. Solvent extraction, silica gel-column chromatography and preparative scale HPLC were used to isolate and prepare monomeric fraction DZP-9, and its physicochemical properties ware determined and synthersized analyzed to identify its chemical structure. A macrolide antibiotics, isolated from metabolite of Streptomyces 702, was identified as Fungichromin. It shows strong inhibitory action to Fusarium oxysporum FOCI and FOC4. EC50 and EC 90 of each were separately 4.7.3.4 mg/mL and 21.5、53.1 mg/mL.
