Cordyceps militaris is a medicinal and edible fungi, which are rich in medicinalingredients, such as cordycepin. As an important environmental induced factor, Bluelight not only has a significant effect on morphological and physiologicaldevelopment of the fungus, but also can induce expression of certain genes in thefungus. This study can provide the basis and support for further tapping valuableresources and functional genes of the Cordyceps. The main results of this study weredisplayed as follows:(1) Blood count board were used to ananlyze conidia number produced byCordyceps militaris when induced by blue light. The result showed that blue light hada positive role to the number of conidia produced by Cordyceps militaris, and thenumber of conidia showed a moderate increase-rapid increase-slow increase shapewith the increase of the blue light exposure time.(2) This study explored the effect on cordycepin production of Cordycepsmilitaris by Blue light with the two-step fermentation method. The result revealed thatcordycepin content was evident fluctuations when Cordyceps induced by blue light. Moreover, the cordycepin content of blue light group was generally higher than that inblack, Which demonstrated that blue light was conducive to the accumulation ofcordycepin.(3)The study on the two-step fermentation of producing Cordyceps militariscarotenoid was carriedt out with a method of dark flask culture+blue lightillumination static culture. The study showed that under the condition of shake flaskfor2days and then the corresponding static culture in blue light for5days, themycelial color was deepest, and correspondingly the carotenoids content of Myceliumwas also the highest in Cordyceps militaris.(4)In the study, molecular biological methods was used to find and characterizeblue light induceing-related genes. After blue light induced the mycelium ofCordyceps militaris, through the design of primers by RT-PCR, two gene fragmentswere sequenced and compared in GenBank, and results show that these two fragmentsmay be part of kexin gene and histidine kinase gene. Northen blot analysis indicated that the kexin-like gene was regulated by the blue light. The study has yet to befurther for more the results.
