Goose is a kind of herbivorous poultry, which mainly feed grass. Alfalfa and ryegrass are rich of nutrient like crude protein, vitamin, Ca, P,and so on. So, they are the source of green feed. To popularize the application of grass meal and effectively utilize the forage resource, this study was performed to investigate the effects of pellet feed added different proportion of ryegrass and alfalfa meal on production performance of Yangzhou geese.540healthy and similar weight geese (half of female and male)were randomly divided into9groups with3replicates and20geese per replicate. The diet of control group was without added grass meal. The groups H1-H4were experimental groups with added the different level of ryegrass and the groups M1-M4were experimental groups with added the different level of alfalfa. The trial lasted for10weeks with3stages,0~3weeks,4~6weeks and7~10weeks.The results were as follow:1.Compared with the control group, the FBW of alfalfa and ryegrass groups in3,6and10weeks were increased(P>0.05).The ADFI of geese aged3and10weeks in all experimental groups were increased which the H3and M4were the highest. The ADG of geese aged6and10weeks in all experimental groups were increased(P<0.05)which the H3and M3were the highest,but the F/G were no different(P>0.05).The leg muscle weight of alfalfa and ryegrass groups were increased(P<0.05) and the slaughter weight of geese aged3and10weeks and the tibia weight of geese aged6and10weeks were increase(P>0.05),but the abdominal fat weight were reduced (P>0.05)which the effects of H3and M3were the best.The carcass rate, semi-eviscerated ratio, eviscerated ratio and leg muscle ratio and the content of CP,CF,water and IMP in breast muscle and leg muscle were no significantly different in each group(P>0.05).2.Compared with the control group, the content of TP and HDL in serum of geese aged3,6 and10in alfalfa and ryegrass groups were increased(P<0.05), the content of TC in serum of geese aged6and10weeks were increased(p<0.05), but the content of GLU,ALP,TG and LDL were reduced(P>0.05).The effects of H3andM3were the best.3.Compared with the control group, the liver, muscular stomach, pancreas weight and the jejunum, ileum and cecum length of alfalfa and ryegrass group were increased(P<0.05)and the intestinal wall thickness and villus height of duodenum, jejunum, ileum and cecum were increased(P>0.05)which the effects of H3and M3were the best,but the value of stomach pH were no significantly different(P>0.05).To sum up, the production performance, the blood biochemical indexes of Yangzhou geese can be improved by pellet feed added ryegrass and alfalfa meal. The effects of added alfalfa with6%,16%,20%in0~3weeks,4~6weeks and7~10weeks respectively were the best.
