During summer and autumn of2011, the behavior research has been taken in the Qixing River and Hong River national nature reserves of Sanjiang plain, Hei Longjiang Province.5760behavior data has been recorded during summer, including2859Feeding (49.64%),1491Walking(25.89%),569Alerting(9.88%),459Resting(7.97%),364Preening(6.32%) and18other behaviors(0.31%).3600behavior data has been recorded during autumn, including1650Feeding(45.83%),910Walking(25.28%),590Resting(16.39),220Alerting(6.11%),200Preening(5.56%) and30other behaviors(0.83%).Analyzing its feeding frequency, the result shows, the mean feeding frequency in summer is34.87and33.41in autumn.According to the distribution curve of its dally behavior, there are peaks follow the time changes, in particularly the peaks of Feeding is quite obviously. The peak of summer is8:00to16:00, and8:00to15:20in autumn. To gathering statistics of dally behavior of White-naped Crane during summer and autumn based on weather condition, it shows the more Feeding and Alerting in sunny weather and less in rainy weather. Less Resting in sunny weather and more in rainy weather.Because of different habitat types between Qixing River and Hong River, the behavior ratio based on same season but different habitat is also different. Within the sedge swamp of Hong River, more Preening and Alerting have been recorded. Less Preening and Alerting in reed swamp of Qixing River.By the behavior observation of White-naped Crane during summer and autumn in Sanjiang Plain, the baseline situation of this species has been acquired. There is only a few behavior research of White-naped Crane during summer and autumn, hope this paper could provide the scientific evidence of its conservation and habitat management.
