Qin Jiao, the root segment of Gentiana macrophylla Pall.,was first described in‘ShenNong Ben Cao Jing’. It is one of the world famous medicinal fungi,and also a commonlyused traditional Chinese medicine.It is also known as Da Ye Long Dan, Da Ye Qin Jiao,XiQin Jiao et al. And it has the direct effect attending removing wind-dampness,relieveingpain, et al. In recent years,the medicinal value of Gentiana macrophylla Pall.,attracts moreand more attention.Gentiopicroside,which is one of the active ingredients of Gentianamacrophylla Pall.,has the function of anti-inflammatory,anti-allergic,and it could protect theliver cells, and the pharmacological effects of anti-bacterial and anti-virus.Because of theobvious differencs between the Gentiana macrophylla Pall. from different habit,we selectedexperimental materials of Gentiana macrophylla Pall.from different habit,and did theexperiment according to Chinese Pharmacopoeia.In order to develop the use of thismedicinal fungi, the14batches of Gentiana macrophylla Pall. collected from differentregions (Shaanxi,Gansu,Liaoning,Ningxia,, Shanxi,Inner Mongolia,Yunnan and otherplaces)were measured the contents of moisture,total ash,acid insoluble ash,water-solubleextract.l.In addition,samples of native, cultivated Gentiana macrophylla Pall.were collectedfrom Longde county of Ningxia Province.Atomic absorption spectrometry is used todetermine the content of heavy metal element,including Cu,Hg,Pb,As,Cd.At the sametime,the dry processing method of Gentiana macrophylla Pall.was optimized and the initialdrying process quality control system was also established, the results are as follows:1.With the reference to the2010version of ‘Chinese Pharmacopoeia’,the total ashcontents should not exceed5.5%,acid-insoluble ash content should not exceed2%, themoisture content should not higher than7.5%,the amount of water-soluble extracts shouldnot less than50%, and the Gentiopicroside and Loganic acid content should not less than5%.2. In this study, HPLC was used to compare the ingredient Gentiopicroside andLoganic acid content of samples of14different habit.Results show that the quality ofGentiana macrophylla Pall. from different areas has evident differences,and the sum ofGentiopicroside and Loganic acid content varies from2.56%to12.42%, but they are much higher than the requirements of the pharmacopoeia (2.5%).The results show that,because ofenvironmental factors factors,such as climate, soil conditionsthe,14sources of Gentianamacrophylla Pall.have evident differences in Gentiopicroside and Loganic acidcontent,which could also affects the second metabolite accumulation.of Gentianamacrophylla Pall.3. This research also used Atomic absorption spectrometry, to determine the content ofheavy metal element,including Cu,Hg,Pb,As,Ge,in Ningxia Province.The result shows that,The content of element Cu in native sample was slightly higher, other indexes,includingboth native and cultivated Gentiana macrophylla Pall, met the requirement,and the reasonsmay be due to ethe soil in Ningxia region containing higher copper than other places,thisshould be paid attention.4. This study used HPLC to detect different drying methods on gentiopicroside contentof Gentiana macrophylla Pall. that:influence of drying condition on gentiopicroside contentin Gentiana macrophylla Pall.,and influence of different processing technology ongentiopicroside content in Gentiana macrophylla Pall.At different dry temperature,thecontent of gentiocroside is variable.When the drying temperature is between80to100℃, the content of gentiocroside is the highest.When the drying temperature is60℃,thecontent of gentiocroside is also higher than other condition,but the drying time is toolong,so it is not the best temperature.Different processings such as baking,drying in the sunshine and cool,have much infuence on the content of gentiopicroside.When it is drying inthe sun or cool,the gentiopicroside content is lower than baking.The established standers inthis research are somewhat typical and they can be used in quality control of Gentianamacrophylla Pall.This is useful to the quality standard of Gentiana macrophylla Pall.
