The swine disease is increasing complex in swine industry. The newdiseases were emerging while the old diseases had not been effectively controlled inswine industry, and the phenomenon of mixed infection was increasing widespreadwhich had became a serious impediment to the healthy development of the swineindustry. So how to effectively control animal diseases has become a necessaryguarantee to the healthy development of swine industry and public health security.Compartmentalization had been internationally recognized as one of the mosteffective means to prevent and control animal diseases, while the core of which wasthe biosecurity management system, and up to now there was still no systematicbiosecurity management system in our country. Thus a series of studies on biosecuritymanagement system was carried out within the scope of Henan.A questionnaire survey about construction and operation of biosecuritymanagement system in407large-scale swine enterprises in Henan and a field survyabout disease detection and disease control measures in5lage-scale swine enterpriseswhich provided100,000slaughter pigs per year, Henan animal disease preventioncontrol Center and Henan animal Health Authority was conducted. Many problems onbiosecurity management was still existed in swine enterprises. Such as no clear senseof the biosecurity, half-baked biosecurity files, outdated laws, regulations, standards, imperfect financial security mechanism, poor government supervision, so little publicinformation et al. It was essential to establish a systematic biosecurity managementsystem whose keys were ssurrounding environment, feeding and management, animalmovement, staff movement, inputs, equipment, appliances and vehicles, hogslaughterhouse to scientificly prevent and control animal diseases, to enhance thecompetitiveness of enterprises.Harmless treatment of the dead pigs and their products is an importantcomponent of biosecurity management system, so this study use the methods ofpathogen isolation and PCR to detect pathogen in samples which had been disposedby biofermentation and decomposition equipment with heating. We evaluated thebiosecurity effects of the equipment’s disposing the dead pigs and their productsthrough comparing the pathogen detection rate between pre-treatment samples and post-treatment samples. The results showed that the porcine circovirus, porcinepseudorabies virus, porcine parvovirus, swine streptococcus suis and other commonpathogenic microorganisms can be killed after handling72h excepted classical swinefever virus. The biosecurity effect of the equipment’s disposing the dead pigs and theirproducts basically reached the safe disposal requirements. The experiment providedscientific data support to explore new method. The study begined with refering to the survey results of biosecurity managementsituation, the new method of harmless treatment of dead pigs and their products, relevant state laws and regulations, industry technical specifications, standards and thesuccessful biosecurity management experience in practice, insisting on scientific andsystematic, objective and clear hierarchy, operability and practical principles. Afterconsulting related swine enterprises and inviting experts to audit and finalized, aintegral biosecurity management system had been established. It will indicate a newdirection for pig disease integrated control and prevention methods, will provide anew idea for China to break the deadlock in pigs and their products’s export in time, and will greatly promote the healthy development of China’s livestock industry.
