The main contradiction and problem exist in China’s dairy industry is aform of backward farming. Fresh milk production was accomplished, for themost part, by small groups of farms. The inherent drawbacks of retailculture model greatly influence the development of China’s dairy industry.Scale, intensive, standardized farming began to receive attention, and dairyfood safety incidents accelerate the changes of culture model. Dairy cattlebreeding decisions play an important role in the management of dairy herds.Dairy cows will produce milk only after insemination, pregnancy andcalving. Pregnancy rate, estrus detection and abortion are importantdeterminants of the dairy herd reproductive performance. Detection ofestrus and proper timing of insemination remain as major problems limitingreproductive efficiency in dairy herds. The internet of things technology is anew information processing and accessing method and has wide application.This paper expounded the application status of Internet of Thingstechnology in estrus detection, elite dairy cattle register and individualmatching, Dairy Herd Improvement and management of pregnancy. Theconstruction of standardized and specialized IoT technology is the base ofdairy farm intelligent and informatization, and the IoT technology realizescientific management of dairy cows breeding process.First, This paper studied the mating plan process of dairy cows in IoTenvironment. Cow electronic archives recorded pedigree information ofdairy cows, and estimated the inbreeding coefficient of cows and bulls.Then breeding objectives were chosen and bulls were selected to mate withcows via a mating plan. In view of mating plan of cows, this paper established a0-1linear programming model under constrained inbreedingand wider kinship, and selected a mating plan with highest comprehensivebreeding value.Then, considering the dairy cows have the optimal artificialinsemination time and different cows have different milk yield, this paperdescribed the dairy cow artificial insemination model. This paper appliedparallel machine earliness/tardiness scheduling theory of JIT schedulingproblem to dairy cows artificial insemination tasks scheduling problem.Then a hybrid algorithm was introduced in this paper. Firstly, in accordancewith the principle of balancing each breeding worker, artificial inseminationtasks were assigned to different breeding workers, which determined the setof tasks to be implemented of each breeding worker. Secondly, this paperproposed TS/QP processing strategy. In the initial solution generatingprocess, the sequences of operations on the breeding workers were producedby TS (tabu search) procedure, and the completion times of operationsbelonged to the generated sequences was optimized by QP (quadraticprogramming). The simulation results showed the effectiveness of themodel and algorithm.
