Potato is the world’s fourth important food crop, following wheat, corn, rice, and is one of the five major food crops in China. At present, China is already one of the largest potato growing countries in the world, and the range of planting throughout the country, so the effect of potato planting is very important. At present, with the continuous development of science and technology in the country, except for some areas still rely on human, animal and other traditional methods of planting potatoes planting, most of the region has achieved a semi-mechanized or mechanized production of potato from ditching, fertilizing, seeding, overburden covered ridge to the whole process can be completed rely on machinery, improve production efficiency. However, there are many defects still rely on existing domestic potato planter potato, currently the most widely used transport chain liter seed planter in the seeding process, the leak is very serious play, hole high the need for artificial replant again, This is not only time-consuming, laborious and lead to the low land utilization influencing the potato production. Therefore, the design of practical and economical requirements for potato planter Agronomic has very important significance.To solve above problems, adopting the method of combination of agricultural machinery and agronomy, and according to the existing design method of the potato planter, an improved single ridge line automatic seeding type potato planter is designed on the basis of the original potato planter. The machine can finish furrowing, fertilizing, seeding, ridging and covering film coating process one-time, and it can also achieve no leakage sowing without needing manual reseeding any longer, reduce the labor intensity and improve production efficiency.Single ridge line automatic reseeding type potato planter mainly includes opener, distributing device, metering device, seeding device, ridging device, laminating device and power transmission system. Seeding device contains mechanical part and control system and achieves the automatic reseeding function by combining laser correlation sensor, single-chip microcomputer and stepping motor with mechanical.Use 3 d software UG to model each component on the single ridge line automatic reseeding type potato planter and conduct virtual assembly of the machine. Use Auto CAD to draw the 2d figure of the seeding device and carry on the processing for the seeding device to trial the seeding test-bed.Seeding test results shows that the improved design of the seeding device can achieve the desired effect and the control system can detect the leakage sowing phenomenon and reseed timely to realize the automatic reseeding function of the potato planter. The design compensates the defect of the original potato planter and improves the effect of the potato planting.
