Karez is a great ancient water conservancy project, which is still playing an irreplaceable role in local irrigation, drinking water, and environmental protection in Turpan. Due to artesian water all year around, apaater evaporates and is used ineffectively. In order to use and protect the Karez system better, apart from ensuring that the basic history of the Karez is not forgotrt from meeting a few needs of domestic-water use in non-irrigation periods, most of the wten, reforming and strengthening it by using modern technology is an important aspect of Karez research. Based on the analysis of geological conditions and the unique operating mechanism of Turpan’s Karez, here in this paper, radiation tube water increasing and controlling, which is an artificial water control technique, is proposed. The main idea in this technique is that of reinforcing the Karez catchment segments and setting up horizontal radiation tubes in the head of the catchment; it means changing the original Karez sidewall catchment into radiation tube catchment. Then, the radiation tube outlet must be connected to the main water pipe, setting the control valve to control the amount of water flow artificially. There is no doubt to increase and control the Karez water by utilizing modern radiation tube technology, however, to be known how did the radiation tube effect on the groundwater of local area, how much water can the system help to increase, how did them settled more reasonable, it is need to use a numerical simulation method to obtain more accurate information and to demonstrate the feasibility of the technique. Therefore, Karez’s radiation tube system seepage field model was established by using a three-dimensional modeling method to calculate the seepage field. In order to find the theoretical basis, the whole model was considered on the actual parameters of working conditions. Based on the excavation of the existing problems, research led to the following results:1) According to Turpan local information, based on the overall trends of the amount of water for each year from Karez and the relevance of the two aspects of view that water flow from karez and pumping capacity, I will make prediction to the water flow from Karez for coming years. So I can make prediction to the capacity of the non-irrigation water of karez. The amount of water in non-irrigation period in 2015 were less than 48 million m3.2)Due to artesian water all year around and the problem of water used ineffectively in non-irrigation period, radiation tube water increasing and controlling, which is an artificial water control technique, is proposed. That can effectively achieve the artificial control of karez water and can significantly increase its water production. Technical solution is effective and feasible. Promoting this technology have important role for conserving the water catchment of karez, effective protecting and full development of karz.3) Three-dimensional numerical model of groundwater flow simulation can accurately predict changes in a variety of conditions characterized by groundwater seepage. Numerical results show that: the use of radiation Karez wells after the transformation, catchment expand the scope of a single karez water flow can be increased more than 2 times the original. the water scope of catchment after wall lining transformation under different conditions increased about 1644~3967 m3 / d, the effect is very obvious; setting Karez water control valve can overcome the defects that cannot be controlled, is a very effective way to protect valuable groundwater resources of the Turpan region. Technical solutions are feasible.4) Karez’s water increase and control technology by radiantion tube, not only can achieve a purposes of increasing and controlling Karez water, and can effectively reduce the workload of Karez dig floods every year, and help to upgrade the local water table to a certain extent, it is worth promoting. Promotion of the technology is important for Karez conservation and protection of groundwater resources.
