There are many factors that effect the normal growth and development of chicken when bred, and light is playing a crucial role. In the traditional methods of feeding chicken, the light management is under consideration rarely. With the development of modern technology, scientific means of raising chicken also gradually win support among the people, and many large and middle-sized chicken farms have been introduced lighting technology, but the methods are often too simple. It’s significant to study a automatic control system according to lighting schedule for the ordinary henhouse.This paper introduces a automatic control system based on natural lighting and artificial lighting for henhouse’s lighting schedule, and this system consists of two parts:host computer and slave computer. The slave computer is using STC89C52RC MCU as the core controller, other hardware parts are divided into many modules, and C language is as the programming language. Because of the light’s uneven distribution in henhouse, multi-point light measurement is set to collect the data in more than one point. In order to solve the problem caused by the complexity of the henhouse, data acquisition system and the main MCU processing system communicate in wireless transmission. The host computer management system runs on PC, communicating with the main MCU processing system through serial port, besides it displays the real-time light intensity data, and according to the user operation of the illumination equipment to carry out manual or automatic control.The data collected by the system near the chicken’s eyes is closing to real light intensity, so the data acquisition point can be set in the coop top, such not only convenient installation, but also can prevent the destruction from chickens. Experiments show, the acquisition points can accurately measure the light intensity values, and the stability of the system, the adjustment precision, the data transmission distance can satisfy practical requirements. In addition, the system has good portability, after transformation can be used for the other parameters measured in similar environments.
