Soil is a material base for realizing the sustainable development of agriculture and the virtuous circulation of the terrestrial ecosystems. And soil fertility is controlled by various soil characters, which reflects the capability of providing a suitable growing condition for plants. In our country’s coal-producing regions of the Loess Plateau, lots of the villages need to be regulated and moved due to a large of coal mining. Under this background, conducting the research for evaluating soil fertility during the period of village reclaiming can effectively judge the science and rationality of reclamation measures, which also could provide a basis for soil fertility improvement and the quality of ascension. Therefore, taking a reclaimed village in Zezhou county of Shanxi province as the study area and based on the related theory of soil fertility, this paper carried out an research about improved effects of the soil fertility in reclaimed village. This paper includes the following contents:(1) The paper clarified the starting point of this study by reviewing the relevant research about soil fertility and discussing the emphases of different research methods and technology.(2) After analyzing the situations of soil fertility in research area, the index system of soil fertility was constructed combined with relevant research and the Rough Set Theory was introduced to determine the index weight.(3) Key factors influencing the effect of improving soil fertility were analyzed, which also were simulated and regulated.(4) The proposals for further improvement of soil fertility were suggested. The paper reached the following conclusions by studying the above content:(1) Soil fertility status tended to be uniform and improved significantly after reclamation, which showed that reclamation process had a significant effect on improving soil fertility.(3) Environmental key factors had the most significant effect on improving soil fertility, which was in line with the characteristics of subjects.(4) the Rough Set Theory was introduced to research on evaluating soil fertility and was used to determine the index weight, which made results more objective and reasonable. The innovation of this paper is constructing an evaluating index system of soil fertility evaluation in reclamation village and introducing rough set theory to the evaluation process, which can make a reasonable evaluation on soil fertility and provide a useful way for the subsequent research.
