In order to research differences in the characteristics of rice growth, yield and other aspects of its formation in different nitrogen application methods and planting density under the condition of different planting ways. With Indica-japonica Hybrid Rice Yongyou 1540 varieties as materials, Conduct three kinds of planting methods including machine-transplanting, throwing and hand-planted rice, three kinds of planting density containing 1.2× 104,1.5×104,1.8x104 holes/666.7m2, three kinds of the ratio of basal-tillering and panicle-spikelet fertilizers including 3:7,5:5,7:3 at test base located Junchuan Zhen, Suizhou City, Hubei Province in 2013. the main results are as follows:First, Hand-planted rice obtains maximum yields, followed by machine-transplanted rice, throwing rice minimum. As for the yield components, Panicles of machine-transplanting rice are greater than throwing and hand-planted rice, and grain number per panicle and seed setting rate of throwing rice and machine transplanted rice are lower than that of hand planted rice,1000-grain weight is insignificant.Second, Proportions of dry matter production in different growth stages are coordinated with each other and significantly correlated with yields under three plant ways. Hand planted rice does the material accumulation quantity> machine transplanted rice> throwing rice in Jointing stage. Dry matter accumulation quantity of the machine transplanted rice are less at populations starting stage, but the total dry matter of machine-transplanting rice is close to that of hand transplanted rice in jointing stage. Hand planted rice does dry matter quantity> machine transplanted rice> Throwing Rice to heading stage. Total dry matter at maturity of machine transplanted rice is more than that of hand planted rice. By comparison of the proportion that dry matter accumulation in different growth stages to the final accounts for the biological production Research found the biological growth accounted for about 46.4% of the final dry matter accumulation from jointing stage to heading stage as to hand planted rice. Interim growth amount of dry matter growth of machine transplanted rice to the final biological production accounted for 45.2% during heading to jointing stage; proportion of growth after heading to the amount of final dry matter presents throwing rice> machine transplanted rice> hand planted rice.Third, According to yield performance and its relationship with indicators of population quality, the machine-transplanting rice is appropriate with the ratio of basal-tillering to panicle-spikelet fertilizers by 5:5, planting density by 1.8×104 holes / 666.7m2; the ratio of basal-tillering to panicle-spikelet fertilizers by 7:3 and planting density with 1.5 ×104 holes / 666.7m2 is the best combination of throwing transplanting rice; hand transplanting rice is appropriate under the way of basal-tillering to panicle-spikelet fertilizers by 7:3, planting density by 1.8 ×104 holes /666.7m2.Fourth, Mechanical planting is most significant in three ways with synergism, compared with the traditional hand-planted way and throwing transplanting rice.Last, Considering the above factors, the combination of the way of machine-transplanting, the ratio of basal-tillering to panicle-spikelet fertilizers by 5:5 and planting density by 1.8×104 holes /666.7m2 is the optimal way of cultivation for this species Yongyou 1540 under the experimental conditions.
