Research On Straw Resource Utilization Behavior Of Farmers’ Household In Hebei

As a by-product of agricultural production and operation, crops straw has long been a noble resource in country’s rural areas and agriculture production for its high yield, wide distribution, and rich variety. In recent years, with the development of rural economy and agricultural policy, our country has been a steady rise in food production and crop straw production. According to the National Survey and Evaluation Report of crop straw resources conducted by Ministry of Agriculture in 2010 year, China’s annual output of crop straw has reached 820 million t, more than 30% of the world total straw. But its resource utilization less than 70%, the proportion of abandoned and burned up to 31.31%, straw waste incineration has become one of the main reasons of nonpoint source pollution. Hebei province, as a big agricultural province, its crop straw utilization has certain representation in the whole country. Farmer’ household, as a main participant and strength, their straw resource utilization behavior, determines the efficiency of straw resources in Hebei province. So study on straw resource utilization behavior of farmers’ household in Hebei province is very necessary.On the basis of fully studied of the related literature at home and abroad, the author identified the research boundary, constructed the theoretical foundation: farmer behavior theory, circular economy theory, cost-benefit theory, and public goods theory. On the basis of the theory, this research carried on a on-the-spot investigation in Cangzhou, Zhangjiakou, Baoding, Shijiazhuang, Xingtai by questionnaire survey method and interview method, to clear straw resource utilization situation in Hebei. Then, this research carried out descriptive statistical analysis about straw resource utilization behavior of farmers’ household. Finally, the article identified the key influence factor of farmers’ household straw resource utilization behavior through the model validation. Specific research contents are as follows:Firstly, this paper summarized the relevant literature of straw utilization status in different countries, farmers’ household behavior and effect factors. Secondly, on the basis of the above documents to set up, this study used the statistical data and survey data, conducted a simple statistical description of farmers’ household straw resource utilization way and utilization ratio, and results obtained: the overall proportion of straw resources utilization in Hebei Province was 77.8%, still has further room for optimization; On this basis, this paper conducted cross-analysis and binary logistic regression between farmers individual characteristics, family-run characteristics, regional characteristics, farmers’ household cognition, market and policy environment and straw resource utilization behavior of farmers’ household. The results showed that: education, farming population, straw resource utilization technology awareness, terrain features, level of mechanization, straw utilization technology promotion, burning straw punishment have significant impact on straw resource utilization behavior of farmers’ household. Finally, based on the analysis of comprehensive utilization of straw resource utilization status and influencing factors of farmers’ household in Hebei province. The articles puts forward some guiding Suggestions and some guidance recommendations to promote the development of agricultural resources circulation and improve the straw utilization efficiency, such as strengthened farmer straw resource utilization publicity and education, focusing on the straw resource utilization technology development and promotion, improving the resource utilization of straw mechanical level, perfecting the farmer straw resource utilization policy support and encourage supervision of agricultural resources. This can also provide reference for Hebei province and around.At present, although have a small amount of literature study the behavior intention and influencing factors of farmers’ household from the perspective of behavioral economics. But more is based on government stalk burning, research the motivation and willingness of farmers straw burning. And the attention of farmers behavior on straw resource utilization is relatively scarce. Therefore this research from the perspective of farmers, to study the straw resource utilization still has strong innovation from the research perspective.
