Investigation On The Third Phase Of The Construction Project Of Meridian Ridge National Nature Reserve In Shannxi Province

Certain effect has been made in Shaanxi Ziwuling Mountain National Reserve through the earlier phase project construction, but some problems still exist. This study analyzed the previous constructions achievements based on the data and a variety of statistical datum of the first two phases of the project constructions, supplemented by in situ investigation. Combined with the present situation of construction, comprehensive planning of the reserve, and relevant national policy, the third phase of the construction project was researched.The main achievements are summarized as following:(1) Many problems still exist though the basic function of the reserve has gradually emerges through the first two phases construction: Part of the project construction budget is insufficient, preventing the projects being finished on time; Infrastructure is relatively backward and the basic conditions still need to be improved; Deficient patrol and protect network coverage hindered the work; Insufficient research facilities is hard to meet the demand.(2)The third phase of construction scheme has been proposed including protection and restoration(patrol roads, forest fire prevention, vegetation restoration, protection site construction) and the scientific research and monitoring project(mission pavilion, information management system, monitoring of rare wild animals). Two year period is allowed for the project that begun in 2014, ending in 2015(3)The third phase of project construction is conducive to the protection of plants and animals, maintaining the ecosystem diversity, enhancing the managed level of projected area and also beneficial to conduct scientific research and the popularization education of sciences.(4) The project will make the reserve resources scientific, informatization and intelligent with possessed basic condition such as a guaranteed organization and management and the consummate technical system(5) The natural environment, resources and biodiversity will be protected and significant ecological, social and economic benefits can be achieved by comprehensive evaluation of project and construction and development of reserve.
