This paper studied on the suitable tree species of subsidence area of Fengtai coal mining Huainan city.We selected existing dominant species through field survey based on the four typical plots for physical and chemical properties of soil. The four typical plots were Panji vegetation restoration area, Fengtai vegetation restoration areas, Fengtai abandoned land and Fengtai wet areas. According to the physical and chemical properties of soil and ecological, economic, social benefits, we divided the experimental zone into two types of sites and selected suitable plants for them in Huainan coal mine subsidence area. The results showed as follows:(1)We studied the artificial planting in a year in Fengtai Experimental site, the indicators were diameter, tree height and survival rate. The plants can be adapted to grow which are punica granatum, Morus alba, Amorpha fruticosa.Hibiscus mutabilis According to the Datong reconditioned wetland ecological zones and existing local vegetation, we found that the plants grow well which are:Quercus acutissima, Robinia pseudoacacia, Salix babylonica, Pterocarya stenoptera, Phragmites australis,Typha orientalis,Acorus calamus,(2)Soil characteristics research showed that the effect of plants in different restoration years on soil physical and chemical properties were different. With the increase of vegetation restoration years, the better the quality of soil fertility. The soil fertility of plot I was significantly better than the other plots. The pH in plot I was neutral, while the others were alkaline. The content of soil organic matter and N,P,K in plot I were all in rich level, while the content of soil organic matter and N,P,K were at the lack of standards in the other plots.Depending on soil characteristics in different regions, Huainan coal mine subsidence area would be divided in two kinds of typical site types,Which were high areas and wet areas. The suitable dominant tree species in the high soil area were:Amorpha fruticosa, Pterocarya stenoptera, Photinia serrulata, Taxodium ascendens, Salix babylonica, Liquidambar formosana Hance, Salix integro. And the suitable dominant plants in the wet areas were:Phragmites australis,Typha orientalis, Phyllostachys heteroclada Oliver, Nelumbo nucifera, Euryale ferox, Eichhornia crassipes,Ceratophyllum demersum.(3) The author also did the experiments of effect of different waterlogging stress on the phihysiological and biochemical characteristics of Taxodium ascendens in coal mining subsidence area in Huainan city. The results showed that different degree of waterlogging affected the chlorophyll content, soluble sugar content, the content of mda and relative electric conductivity of Taxodium ascendens significantly. With the increading of wet level the soluble sugar content, the relative electric conductivity and the content of MDA declined at first and then increased. However, the chlorophyll content increased at first and then declined along with the increase of the depth of water. The research showed that under the condition of moderate waterlogging stress, Taxodium ascendens adapted to grow, and when the water under the condition of excessive waterlogging stress, it was not good for Taxodium ascendens to adapt to grow.(4)By compared the ecological benefits, economic and social benefits of these advantaged plants,we could found that the suitable dominant tree species in the high area in coal mining subsidence area in Huainan city-were:Amorpha fruticosa.Pterocarya stenoptera.Taxodium ascendens,Salix babylonica,Salix integro. And the suitable dominant plants in the wet areas in coal mining subsidence area in Huainan city were:Phragmites australis,Sagittaria sagittifolia,Nelumbo nucifera,Euryale ferox,Trapa bicornis.
