Parametric modeling and optimization design of the chassis structure system of 2ZB-6 hand-held rice transplanter, which is from the project of corporate. This project mainly include structure parametric modeling, finite element analysis, strength check of left and right transmission, transplant-box, bevel gear shell, connecting tube and other parts by ANSYS to find out the weak links in strength. Then optimization design is performed to reduce large stress in the chassis structure. The strength of structure and the quality of design are improved and the failure rate of the product are reduced.Firstly, the parameterized finite element model of the transplanter chassis structure is build by using the software ANSYS. Then six kinds of load cases that include the transplanter walking on road, working in paddy field, impacted by vibrating engine, and other dangerous cases are analyzed in their boundary conditions and loads. Then the largest stress and locations are found out in every condition. Secondly, the most serious damaged connecting boss tube between the left transmission and the engine bracket is optimized by local improvement. Five kinds of optimization schemes are present and analyzed. After optimization, the stress of the boss tube and the connecting part between tube and the left strengthening rib are improved greatly. The fracture trouble of the boss tube is successfully solved.Finally, choose the best optimization scheme and add it to the chassis structure for automatic optimization in the most dangerous condition. The optimize mathematic model can be described as that, on the base of keeping the weight of the structure basically unchanged to reduce the largest stress of the structure in the most serious condition. Use the optimization method with ANSYS as analyzer and the Guide-weight Method as optimizer automatically optimize the chassis structure by 6 times iteration, the maximum stress is significantly decreased.Through the above artificial tuning and automatic optimization design, on the base of keeping the weight of the structure no more than 45kg, the largest stress is reduced from 429MPa to 192.6MPa, and greatly improve the strength of the chassis structure. The research has very important practical engineering value to reduce product failure rate, improving product quality and product market competitiveness.
