There are up to hundreds of species of poultry diseases, of which most types areinfectious diseases.It not only brought huge economic losses to farmers, but alsothreatened to human beings’ health and safety. Coop environmental factors are importantfactors to affect disease outbreaking in poultry. Monitoring of environmental parameterscan display and control the sheds’ environmental conditions in real time, and it is of greatsignificance to reduce the content of harmful gases, adjust the sheds’ environmentalfactors, reduce the rate of disease outbreaks in poultry. This article relies on the layinghens’ indoor environment, it selects five environmental factors of the sheds to construct thesheds’ environmental monitoring system. Appling LabWindows/CVI8.5, it developed theenvironmental monitoring virtual instrument systems. The article completed the followingworks.1) Determine the overall system design. The system is divided into two partsrespectively: lower machine hardware system design and PC software system design, inwhich the lower machine hardware system design includes the constructing of thehardware node and the corresponding program.2) In order to solve the traditional manual data collection methods’ disadvantages,such as the low degree of automation, not high data reliability, sick timeliness and otherissues, the system chooses temperature, humidity, light intensity, carbon dioxideconcentration, and the concentration of ammonia as the research object. The application ofZigBee technologies, virtual instrumentation technology builds up a chicken coopenvironmental monitoring system: the application of sensors, data acquisition circuit,ZigBee protocol wireless network, microcontroller and PC built the hardware institutions,including the coordination node and sensor node design; the IAR EW software, a platformfor hardware system programming; application of LabWindows/CVI8.5developed asystem PC software, the system includes a data display, storage, historical data query,print and other operations functions.3) After completion of the system design, point to point communications andnetworking communication tests were carried out in a laboratory environment. Besides, thefactors that influence indoor wireless signal transmission distance were analyzed. The testresults showed that: the system is stable and reliable, it has a flexible networking system and a user-friendly PC features. The system can be used for coop environmentalmonitoring.
