The production performance of livestock and poultry fed with mildewed feed can be declined, which can lead to serious damage to farmers. How to eliminate and lower effectively the damage ofmycotoxin contamination on animal has been a research focus. A new type of glucose oxidase (GOD)preparation has characteristic of glucose deprivation, deoxidization and sterilization. Addition ofGOD can improve the production performance of livestock and poultry. But the effect of GOD onchronic toxicity caused by mildewed feed is known little. In the present experiment, GOD was addedinto mice dietary with mouldy maize flour of different concentrations, and the effects of GOD ondaily gain, gut microbes, the serum index, liver antioxidant index and structure were studied. Thefunction and mechanism of GOD on attenuating chronic poisoning of mouldy maize wereinvestigated.130KM mice,4weeks,18~22g, were chosen and randomly divided into13groups. Group1was blank control group, and mice fed on basic pellet diet. Group2,3and4were experimentalcontrol groups, and fed on basic diet with10%,20%and30%respectively mouldy maize powder.Group5to group13were experimental group, and the mice fed on diet added0.1%,0.3%and0.1%GOD respectively on the basis of diet of experimental control groups. Mice were bred in25±3℃,relative humidity55%, and the natural lighting environment. Experiment period is60days.1. The effect on the daily gain Fed to20d and40d, the daily gain of mice fed on diet added20%mouldy maize powder and0.1%or0.3%GOD was higher than that of experimental controlgroup significantly (P<0.05). Fed to40d, the daily gain of mice fed on diet added30%moldy maizeflour and0.3%GOD was significantly increased compared with other groups (P<0.01). Fed to60days, the daily gain of the group with10%mouldy maize flour diet decreased significantly (P<0.01).The daily gain of group with10%mouldy maize flour and0.3%GOD diet n significantly increased(P<0.01). The daily gain of group with30%moldy corn flour and0.3%GOD group significantlyincreased (P<0.01).2. The effect on intestinal flora Compared with experimental control group, the number of E.coli in group that diet with10%and20%of moldy maize flour added GOD was significantlyreduced (P<0.01). E. coli number of group added0.3%GOD in60days was significantly lower thanthat in40days (P<0.01); Addition of0.3%and0.5%GOD into the diet with20%mouldy maizeflour, bacteriostatic effect is perfect. Addition of0.3%GOD into the diet with30%mouldy maize flour, bacteriostatic effect is perfect (P<0.01). Compared with blank control group, intestinallactobacilli number in group with20%or30%mouldy maize flour significantly reduced (P<0.01).Addition of0.3%or0.5%GOD into the diet with10%mouldy maize flour, intestinal lactobacillinumber increased significantly(P<0.01);Addition0.3%GOD into the diet with20%mouldy maizeflour, intestinal lactobacilli number in40days increased significantly (P<0.05). In60days,intestinal lactobacilli number increased significantly by addition GOD(P<0.01)3. The effect on serum indexe Compared with other groups, TP, ALB content and ASTactivity in group with10%or20%mouldy maize flour decreased. CHO and ALP contentsignificantly increased (P<0.05). Compared with experimental control groups, Addition of0.1%or0.3%GOD into the diet with30%mouldy maize flour, ALB content significantly increased (P<0.01).ALT activity decreased significantly (P<0.05). Addition of0.3%and0.5%GOD into the diet with10%or20%mouldy maize flour and fed60days, ALB, TP content increased, the activities of TG,total CHO levels and ALT,ALP activity increased (P<0.05, P <0.01).4. The effect on hepatic antioxidant index Diet with10%mouldy maize flour increased T-SODactivity significantly (P<0.01). Compared with experimental control group, Addition of0.3%GODincreased significantly the GSH-PX activity on60days (P<0.05);Addition of0.3%GOD into the dietwith20%mouldy maize flour, the difference of GSH-PX, T-SOD activity and MDA content wassignificant extremely compared with that of experimental control group (P<0.01). Diet with30%mouldy maize flour decreased the activity of GSH-PX,T-SOD and CAT(P<0.05,P<0.01). Additionof0.3%GOD or0.5%GOD increased the activity of T-SOD,CAT (P<0.05)。5. Observation of the liver pathological structure The hepatic structure of control group wasbasic normal. Mouldy maize flour made the liver congestion and vacuoles degeneration. GOD canimprove liver structure, and addition of0.3%GOD and0.5%GOD was recommended dose. Thebenefit of diet with20%mouldy maize flour is prefer to that with10%and30%mouldy maize flour.
