The data of ecological factors(including the climate zone, the average height abovesea level, annual average temperature, average annual rainfall, average annual sunshinehours and frost-free season)and production performances of Chinese indigenous chickenbreeds (including the body weight of adult chicken, body length, chest width, chest depth, keel length, pelvis width, shank length, Shank circumference, live weight before slaughter, slaughter weight, slaughter rate, half net carcass rate, total net rate of chamber, leg musclerate, chest muscle rate, abdominal fat rate, egg weight, shell strength, shell thickness, haugh unit, ratio of the egg yolk, egg fertilization rate, fertilized egg hatchability) werecollected and analyzed in order to study the effects of ecological system on productionperformances.First, use the climate zone as fixed factor, the body size, body weight, Slaughter andreproductive performance indicators as variable in turn, and make one-way analysis ofvariance to examine the influence degree of the climate zone on the above performance. The results showed that the body weight of adult chicken in warm temperate zone wassignificantly higher than that in subtropical zone (p<0.01) and plateau climate zone (p<0.05). The slaughter rate of adult hens in plateau climate zone is significantly lower thanthat in cool and warm temperate zone (p<0.05), and tropical and subtropical zone (p<0.01).Second, use the average height above sea level, annual average temperature, averageannual rainfall, average annual sunshine hours and frost-free season these five factors asindependent variables, the body size, body weight, Slaughter and reproductiveperformance indicators as variable in turn, and establish linear regression model toexamine the influence degree of these five factors on the above performance. The results showed that the body weight, body size, the slaughter rate and the reproductiveperformances tend to have significantly correlation with the average height above sealevel, the annual average-sunshine time and the frost-free season (p<0.01).
