Qinling area is rich in forest medicine resources, with high value of development andutilization. We research and analysis the features of the forest medicine resource throughconsulting a host of documents, the classification of548kinds of forest resource for medicineand the entity-relationship analysising spatial database of forest resource for medicine inQinling area is based on the medical information and resource information of forestmedicine. The following is the main results:We can obtain177species in the north slope,173species in the south slope and198species in both north and south slope, respectively accounted for32.3%,31.6%, and36.1%,through the classification of548kinds of forest medicine.Through the medical part classification of548kinds of forest medicines, we can obtainthat116kinds of whole grass accounted for21.2%;103kinds of root accounted for18.8%;75kinds of whole grass with root accounted for13.7%;69kinds of rootstock accounted for12.6%;31kinds of root or stem bark accounted for5.7%;27kinds of branches and leavesaccounted for4.9%;34kinds of root tuber accounted for4.4%;22kinds of fruit accountedfor4.0%;13kinds of root and stem vine accounted for2.4%;13kinds of flowers accountedfor2.4%;12kinds tubers accounted for2.2%;10kinds of seeds accounted for1.8%;6kindsof bark accounted for1.1%;4kinds of pseudobulbs accounted for0.7;4kinds of bulbsaccounted for0.7%;3kinds of mitoplast accounted for0.5%;3kinds of thallus accounted for0.5%;2kinds of root and rootstock accounted0.4%; a kind of barb, thallus, bacteria, dendritic,shell, spore, sclerotium, nucleolus, petiole, cane and plastic mass, accounted for0.2%.The information of forest medicine resource contains obvious spatial characteristic.Property and spatial information are the key elements of the information of forest resourcefor medicine. The information, the distribution information, the resource information and themedical information of forest medicine are the main entities of the spatial database on forest medicine resource in Qinling area. The drug information of forest is the basic data. Thedistribution information, the resource information and the medical information of forestmedicine can build relationship with the drug information of forest medicine based on thedesignation data item of original plants. The ER model shows the relationship of the mainentities of the spatial database clearly and simply.
