Along with the high standard of living and the popular of the concept of green food,pepole pay attention to the nutritive value and safety of food more and more. A lot of research show that the nutritive value of pigeon is more than in others, the pigeon’s egg also has much nutritive,they are helpful for human.But the pigeon’s rate of eggs laying is low because of its way of eggs laying.It needs feed additive to develop its produce performance.More and more researcher pay attention to the feed additive of Chinese herbal medicine becasuse it is low toxicity and no residue. But,at present,the research about developing the bird’s produce performance also concentrate on the poultry such as chicken and duck, but thers is little study on pigeon.In this experiment, we will regulate the animals’state, develop its produce performance based on the theory of Traditional Chinese Veterinary and the pigeon’s physiology characteristics by the way of adjusting the estrogen’s secreting、developing the antioxidant ability and blood oxygen transpot capcity, excepting to provide a new way to improve the pigeon’s rate of eggs laying.Test1The effect of Butu Add Eggs powder on the pigeon’s egg laying capacity46pairs2-2.5years old、healthy pigeons,and their last time of egg laying must be the same or nearly the same.They were randomized into2groups. Chinese material medica were added into the diet given to the pigeons in group1.The pigeons of group2, as the control were fed with the diet without Chinese material madica. All test last14weeks. The performance indexes, namely the laying rate, the laying period and the laying number of times. Results indicated in every week, the laying rate of group1was almost higher than group2, and in the all14weeks, the difference was remarkable. But the laying period of group1was much shorter than group2. In conclusion, Chinese material medica can effect the pigeon’s egg laying capacity, we should do more work to confirm.Test2Mechanism studies on performances-influencing action of Butu Add Eggs powder in pigeon’sTest2will study the mechanism of Chinese material medica on performance in pigeon. After24hours of the last time for fed the pigeon’s with Chinese material madica in Test1, blood were taken from6pigeons in every group.The value of follicle stimulating hormone (FSH) in the serum, the antioxidative function including glutathione peroxidase (GSH-Px)、 superoxide dismutase (SOD) and malonadehyde (MDA) contents in the serum, the blood parameters, quantity of red blood cell (RBC) and packed cell volume (PCV) were measured respectively. Results indicated that all these indexes, including the value of FSH, the quantity of PCV, the contents of GSH-Px and SOD were promoted by Chinese material medica with a sharply dropping of MDA. The performance of pigeons was promoted by it. Consequently, it could be used in production. In conclusion, the performance of pigeons can be enhanced by Butu Add Eggs powder by stimulating the function of endocrine network and oxidative resistance, and improving the oxygenic-transport ability of RBC.Test3Studies on the estrogenic effect of Herba Epimedii、Fructus Psoraleae and their compoundThis test compared the estrogenic effect of Herba Epimedii、Frctus Psoraleae and their compound.3021-day-old aged rates were randomized into5groups. Three types of Chinese material medica were gived to the raes of groupl-group3. The rates of group4were fed by premarin.The rates of group5were gived nothing except physiological saline. All the text last10days. To study their estrogenic effect, the vaginal smear were observed, the hormone values of estradiol (E2) in the serum、the uterine factor and the change of weight were measured respectively. Results indicated that non-significant difference was showed for the examinations, namely the change of weight of every groups, all these indexes, including the uterine factor、the value of E2and cell kerotosis rate were most remarkably promoted by the compund except premarin.In conclusion, the cpmpund can adjust animal’s function of endocrine network better than Herba Epimedii or Fructus Psoraleae.
