The three experiments were conducted to evaluate the effects of Functional Additives on Performance and Egg Quality of Laying Hens, the functional additives are GABA (y-Aminobutyric acid), DHA (Docosahexaenoic acid) and ALA (a-Linolenic acid).Experiment I Effects of GABA Dietary on Performance and Egg Quality of Laying HensThis experiment was conducted to investigate the effects of GABA dietary on the production performance and egg quality of laying hens. Three hundred and eighty four 300-day-old hyline brown laying hens were randomly divided into 2 groups with 3 replicates per group and 64 laying hens per replicate. The diet of the control group was a basal corn-soybean diet, the experiment groups were the basal diet with 0.1% GABA. The experiment lasted for 42days.The results showed as follows: 1) GABA supplementation can significantly increase daily feed intake at 1-2 weeks with 5-6 weeks and during the whole experimental it can significantly decreased the ratio of feed to egg weight (P>0.05) 2) The supplementation of GABA in the diet significantly increased average egg weight and eggshell weight, and significantly decreased egg shape index and average yolk weight. (P>0.05) 3) The supplementation of GABA also significantly increased the content of serum ALB (P>0.05).4) The supplementation of GAB A in the diet significantly decreased hepatic index (P<0.05).5) The supplementation of GABA can not change Fatty Acid,TC and TG of yolk significantly. In conclusion, the supplementation of 0.1% GABA can improve the egg quality and the production performance.Experiment ⅢEffects of DHA、ALA Dietary on Performance and Egg Quality of Laying HensThis experiment was conducted to investigate the effects of DHA、ALA dietary on Fatty Acid Compositions、TC and TG of Egg Yolk. FIve hundred and seventy six300-day-old hyline brown laying hens were randomly divided into 2 groups with 3 replicates per group and 64 laying hens per replicate. The diet of the control group was a basal corn-soybean diet, the experiment groups were the basal diet with 0.3% ALA. The experiment lasted for 42days.The results showed as follows: 1)The supplementations of DHA and ALA have no significantly changes of laying rate (P>0.05), DHA and ALA supplementation can significantly increase daily feed intake at 5-6 weeks (P<0.05) and DHA can significantly decrease the ratio of feed to egg weight (P<0.05).2)DHA and ALA supplementation can significantly decrease shape index (P<0.05),ALA can increase the weight of eggs significantly (P<0.05),DHA can decrease yolk weight significantly (P<0.05),both DHA and ALA can significantly increase albumen height and Haugh Unit (P<0.05).3)The supplementation of DHA and ALA significantly decrease serum TG (P<0.05).others have no significantly changes (P>0.05).4) The supplementation of DHA and ALA in the diet significantly decreased hepatic index (P<0.05).5) Tthe supplementation of DHA and ALA can improve the PUFA significantly. DHA supplementation can significantly increase more than ALA supplementation docosahexaenoic acid of egg yolk, lower cholesterol, and so on. Both of two groups significantly increased n-3 PUFA content, and supplying DHA or ALA can reduce the ratio of n-6 / n-3.6) The supplementation of DHA and ALA can decrease the TC and TG of yolk significantly. In conclusion, the supplementation of 0.2% DHA or 0.2% ALA can improve the egg quality and the production performance.
