Ecosystem assessment can help us to understand the problems of ecological environment and to practice sustainable management in our country. The forest ecological system, as an important part of terrestrial ecosystem, has the special function to maintain natural ecosystem structure, function and process. The objectives of this resrach are to evaluate forest ecosystem service function in the target region, Fuyang City, by using the Forest resources inventory data and selecting the main evaluation indexes of forest ecosystem service function according to the evaluation standard of People’s Republic of Specifications for assessment of forest ecosystem services in China(LY/T1721-2008) combined with Millennium Ecosystem assessment framework and the characteristics of the local forest ecosystem. The annual increased value of timber, carbon fixation and oxygen released, water conservation, soil conservation and biodiversity conservation functions of Fuyang forest ecosystem was evaluated by using market value method, shadow engineering method and alternative engineering method. At the same time, in order to further understand the ecosystem service spatial difference in different stand types, Miaoshanwu Nature Reserve was choosen as a study case. The main forest service functions were further analyzed by using Arc GIS 10.0 software. The findings showed that:In the aspect of function evaluation, the total carbon storage in Fuyang forest ecosystem was 2.67×107 t·a-1, including 6.68×105 t·a-1 of vegetation carbon while 1.66×106 t·a-1 of oxygen released and 1.82×106 m3·a-1 of increments of standing volume. Further more, the water regulation was 6.50×108 m3·a-1, the water purification was 6.51×108 m3·a-1. the soil-fixation was 2.05×106 t·a-1, and the fertilizer conservation was 1.60×105 t·a-1.On the evaluation of the magnitude of value, the total value of Fuyang forest ecosystem services was 1.22×1010 yuan·a-1. The quantity of different ecosystem services’ value was: water conservation(5.33×109 yuan·a-1) > carbon fixation and oxygen released(3.32×109 yuan·a-1) > annual increased value of timber(2.96×109 yuan·a-1) > biodiversity conservation(3.74×108 yuan·a-1) > soil conservation(2.62×108 yuan·a-1). The value of Fuyang forest ecosystem service per unit area was 1.08×105 yuan·hm-2·a-1. And the value order from large to small of dominant species was: bamboo> Schima superb> hardwoods> economic forest> soft broadleaves> Pinus massoniana> Oak> Cunninghamia lanceolata> Sassafras tsumu> broadleaf mixed> Cinnamomum camphora. The order of the forest ecosystem service value per unit area was: soft broadleaves> economic forest> Sassafras tsumu> Schima superb> bamboo> Cinnamomum camphora> hardwoods> broadleaf mixed> Pinus massoniana> Cunninghamia lanceolata> Oak.There was large spatial difference of forest ecosystem service function in Fuyang. As showed in township-level of Fuyang, the value of ecological service function was mainly composed of forest in Dayuan Town and Xindeng Town. Its ecological service function value was 1.22×109 yuan·a-1. And their value accounted for 20.16% of the total value of Fuyang. The value of ecological service function was relatively low in China National Rice Research Institute and Qianglao Team, their total value of the ecological service function in Fuyang was very small. They were Daqing farm field and Xindeng forest farm where forest ecological service function value per unit area was relatively high. The value per unit area in each of them was 1.90×105 yuan·hm-2·a-1. The function value of per unit area in Qianglao Team was lowest with 1.21×104 yuan·hm-2·a-1.The result of evaluating forest ecosystem service in Miaoshanwu Nature Resurve was shown: water conservation was 2.32×106 m3·a-1, soil conservation was 6.99×103 t·a-1, and carbon fixed and oxygen relation was 3.80×103 t·a-1. And total value of service function in Nature Resurve was 2.65×107 yuan·a-1. The value of different stand types was: Oak> Schima superb> hardwoods> Phyllostachys pubescens> Pinus massoniana> Cunninghamia lanceolata.
