With the rapid development of domestic economy, requiring mechanical work is also increasing, people are starting to focus on the development of forestry machinery. However, our country is more complicated geographical conditions, and the roads are mostly rugged or soft, and there is less obstacle for many of the drawbacks of the machine the ability to exist, and therefore require new machinery to meet the needs of forest walk.In this paper, the history and present situation of brush cutter design theory are analyzed and summarized, and the future development of brush cutters are prospected and future prospects are estimated.Through the development and research status cutters raised this design self-propelled walk cut the basic requirements of filling machine, while the machine according to the structural characteristics and design requirements determine the power sector, travel agencies, and cutting irrigation device program,and at last determine the main parameters of the machine.Making sure the overall structure of the walking brush cutter, and tetermine the main components of the machine that is walking part, brush part and driving part.Designing and analyse the walking part of the body, chassis and clutch control mechanism. Analysis of power transfering principle brush part, the middle part of the brush shaft design; the main components of the driving part of the structural analysis.We have used ANSYS to do the static analysis and dynamic analysis of the main parts in the machine. Based on the static research, the cloud atlas of the strain stress and safety factor are made, the strength and stiffness are investigated of the main parts. Observing the strength and stiffness of the main components of the machine; the dynamics of the major modal analysis, including of modal analysis of key parts to get the natural frequencies, calculate of critical speed, at last testing the design is reasonable or not.In the end, the paper builds the 3D model by using SolidWorks software, and carries on the simulation of the walking brush cutting machine’s kinematics on the basic of virtual prototype technique. Though the special interface between SolidWorks software and ADAMS, the model is imported into ADAMS and does motion simulation analysis of the walking brush cutting to get various kinematics, and analyses the results after moving.
