In this paper, based on the depth analysis of the development history, current situation and development trend of domestic and foreign brush cutters, compared the advantage and disadvantage of various types of brush cutting machine, put forward a kind of crawler shrub plantation cutter that suits for the current development situation of shrub plantation in our country. Then carried on the design, research and calculation of the overall program layout and concrete structure carefully.In connection with the shrub growth characteristics and shrub-plantation planning environment, a crawler walking machine as the carrier of brush cutter was carried out in this paper. And have a design and analyze of the walking machine, cutting mechanism, transmission system and flip adjustment mechanism of the brush cutter. Determine the form of the composition, connection type and installation dimensions of the various structural components. And determine the overall performance parameters of the crawler brush cutter finally.The cutting mechanism of the brush cutter was design to take the form of double-crank mechanism to realize the function, and use the form of reciprocating cut manner to realize the harvesting operation. In order to verify the kinematics of the bush cutter, use ADAMS to analyze this kind of cutting form. In order to examine the stiffness and strength of the designed structure, use ANSYS to make finite element analysis of the key parts of the bush cutter.In order to improve the performance of the designed brush cutter, the response of the brush cutter vibration system to various incentive was analyzed and calculated during the harvesting operation in this paper. The main excitations that need to considerate are the following two:one is that produced by the reciprocating movement of cutting mechanism, the other one is that produced by road roughness. Column and solve the vibration equation of the brush cutter system under the both excitation, and analyze the results. In connect with the results, improve and optimize the original design, and improve the overall performance of the crawler brush cutter.In order to improve the working efficiency of the crawler bush cutter and make the whole machine more reasonable, take optimization design of the gear section of the transmission system. Proposed the optimization function and calculated under the circumstance of MATLAB. In addition, make an optimization of the original design in order to improve the overall performance of the bush cutter.As a new kind of brush harvesting equipment, the crawler brush cutter of shrub-plantation provides an important theoretical and practical foundation for the shrub-plantation harvest development in our country, and it also makes some contribution to the development of the shrub-plantation harvest equipment.
