The safety of Bt gene plant has attracted more and more public attention. Rice as main food crop, increasing the production of crops is of great significance to human beings. Rice pests of rice is very serious. With the development of molecular techniques,Bt rice of Bt insecticidal protein gene have high expressive and specificity. Due to these transferred genes in rice are not from the traditional gene pool, the security problems of Bt rice to non-target insects has been focused on many scholars.This experiment studies on the Locusta migratoria feeding on Bt rice and normal rice showed the differences in external morphological characteristics, biological characteristics, behavioral science,intestinal enzyme activity and the hardiness.To discuss the the security of Bt rice to Locusta migratoria manilensis(Meyen) non-target insects.Research results showed that:1. Locusta migratoria manilensis(Meyen) feeding on Bt rice and normal had no significant differences on the body-length, head-width, length and width of mouthparts, length and width of right and left upper jaw,wing(bud)-length,back leg-length, etc. However, there were differences between individuals of each species.2. Locusta migratoria manilensis(Meyen) feeding on Bt rice in the growth duration, survival rate, the biological features, such as molting, appetite and also there was no significant difference.3.Under the condition of different temperature, Locusta migratoria manilensis(Meyen) feeding on Bt rice and normal had no significant differences on the foraging,feeding and oviposition behavior. Locusta migratoria manilensis(Meyen) in low temperature below20℃would gradually stop feeding, also would not mate and lay eggs, the temperature at25℃~30℃, mating, feeding and laying eggs behavior of Locusta migratoria manilensis(Meyen) would become active.4.Midgut was the individual main place to digest food, absorb nutrition and secrete various digestive enzymes,so it was closely related to the degree of digestion and absorption. Locusta migratoria manilensis(Meyen) feeding on Bt rice and normal had no significant differences on the protease, cellulase, amylase and pectinase activity.5.Locusta migratoria manilensis(Meyen) feeding on Bt rice and normal had no significant differences on the fat,super-cooling point and freezing point. Locusta migratoria manilensis(Meyen) were presented the fat growth and then super-cooling point also increased in the1~4instars, five instar, the fat growth but super-cooling sudden dropped.
