Objective:To study the effect of foliar nutrition, pruning, plastic film mulching on the florescence of Lonicera japonica Thunb. and the changes in the carbon and nitrogen metabolism, and to discuss the relationship between the carbon and nitrogen metabolism with the florescence advanced, postphoned, and integral flowering time duration. Methods:Using three field management of spraying different concentrations of potassium dihydrogen phosphate, carbamide and borax foliar nutrients, pruning, plastic film mulching, after which the early flowering season, full bloom stage, end flowering stage and the growth of plants were recorded. The cont ent of soluble suger content, total nitrogen, free amino acid and gibberell in were de termined by Sulfuric acid anthrone colorimetry, kjeldah method, ninhydrin coloration method, and HPLC, respectively. Results: ①Foliar nutrient spraying affected flow er development of Lonicera japonica Thunb. The florescence shortene d along w ith the incr easing carbamide concentration, and C/N of leaves declined. Monopotassium phosphate solution of 3%-6% contributes to accumulation of soluble sugar, C/N rised along with flower development, and the florescence was lengthened. Low concentrations of borax solution (less than 2%) can delay initial flowering phase to the end of April. Florescence advances and general flowering time prolongs for boron solutio n of 3%. Phosphate solution of 3%-6% and boron solution of 1%-3% are benefit to the prolongation of honeysuckle florescence. ②C/N changes greatly after pruning. The C/N changes of Lonicera japonica Thunb. shows relatively flat for early and mid pruning. C/N changes showed a rising trend in the stage of late flower development, and showed a longer flowering. For late pruning, C/N was high, and the end flowering stage advanced. ③The flowering stage prolonged and the florescence was longer under the co ndition of black plasti c film mulching, while transparent film group and without mulch group showed a higher C/N, relative flowering phase shorter. Conclusion:Spraying monopotassium phosphate and borax solution was beneficial to delay the terminal time of flowering for Lonicera japonica Thunb.. Pruning in the middle of the growing period and mulching black plastic film can properly extend the flowering phase. The best ratio of C/N is 3-4 in the late phase of fl ower formation, which will prolong flowering period, and lead to the shorter flowering period for higher or lower C/N.
