Lycium barbarum L.is a special fruit of Solanaceae and the category of Lycium L to china.,besides, it’s also the one of the important plant source and economic crops in northwest of China. In recent years, the cultivated area of Lycium barbarum L is increasing,however, the standardized production of it still need to be improved. Since the species of Lycium barbarum L. is various,and there have some blind spots in choosing its cultivars, which is an obstacles for improving quality and output for local Lycium barbarum L. In order to help this rare and precious plant developed well, we set 9 species of Lycium barbarum L. as subject, and we made use of comprehensive evaluation method to analysis and evaluate them on the basis of observational studies,which aim to provide a certain reference basis for choosing appropriate cultivars.The experimental material in this study,4 years old flat fruit medlar,Ningqi1, Ningqi3,Ningqi4, Ningqi5, Ningqi7, Mengqi1,07-2 and 0901,which are all came form demonstration garden of Yujie agricultural trade limited company, located in Jingtai county,Gansu province.Located in Jingtai County,Gansu province,we tried to observe their characteristics of plant growth,fruit yield,hundred grain weight of fruits,fruit quality and chlorophyll fluorescence,photosynthetic characteristics,leaf chlorophyll content and leaf size indicators,and other indexes to discuss and evaluate the comprehensive quality of these experimental materials.and by making use of the method of main component analysis combined with membership function analysis,to find the most suitable cultivars of Lycium barbarum L.for local area.and then we can provide some certain theoretical basis for how to choise the suitable cultivars and screen more fine plant. The main conclusions we got are as follows:(1) The result of plant growth characteristics demonstrated that the Ningqi3 have characteristics of much new growth rate,bigger canopy, thich trunk,the tree potential opening,at the same time,the Ningqi3 have the longest effective length,which amount to 41.00 cm,and the thickest ground diameter about,4.205 cm,which significantly greater than others cultivars.(2) The results of different leaf physiological characteristics of cultivars showed that chlorophyll a and total contents of chlorophyll in Ningqi3 is significantly higher than the other eight cultivars,followed is 0901 and Ningqi1, however Mengqi1 have the lowest chlorophyll a and total content of,chlorophyll.but there is no obvious difference among the other cultivars;The Fv/Fm and Fv/Fo of Ningqi3 is also significantly higher than others, and then are Flat fruit medlar,Ningqi1,Ningqi7 and Ningqi4,while the content in Ningqi5 is minimum, and significantly lower than the others. In conclusion, Ningqi3 has the highest utilization rate of light energy and strong potential photosynthetic activity.(3) According to the different photosynthetic gas exchange parameters about those Lycium barbarum L cultivars,there is a significant difference in nine cultivars. The Pn, Ci, WUE, WUEi in Ningqi3 leaf are significantly higher than others cultivars’,while it has lower Tr.Comprehensive thinking, Ningqi3 has low Ls,and also significantly lower than others, which illustrate the Ningqi3 has the strongest photosynthetic capacity,absorb the light energy and water use effectively,at the same time,water consumption is lower.(4) The study results about the yield and the fruit hundred grain weight inflected that Ningqi3 has the highest yield,whih could bear dried fruit about 1.11 kg per plant, it’s higher than the local main variety Ningqi1 almost-27.59%, and significantly exceed other cultivars in this test,then followed by Flat fruit medlar,Ningqi1 and Ningqi7 of Lycium barbarum L;however the fruit hundred grain weight of Mengqi1 and 0901 were significantly higher than other cultivars,and there is no obvious difference between them, and their value were 24.16 g and 24.16 g,while there was no apparent varity among the rest of cultivars.(5) The fruit quality analysis in the study showed that Ningqi3 has the pretty high total sugar and polysaccharide,in contrast 07-2 has a lower total sugar and polysaccharide.The flavonoids content of Ningqi3 is significantly higher than other cultivars, while Mengqi1,07-2 is clearly lower than others,and the rest of experimental varities have no significant difference.The betaine content is extremely significant different among nine cultivars,Ningqi3 and Flat fruit medlar betaine content is significantly higher than other varieties, but there is no clear change between them.In contrast, the betaine content of Mengqi1,07-2 is lower than others.Carotenoids is one of the important and effective components of Lycium barbarum L medicinal qualities, the carotenoid content in 07-2 and Mengqi1 is pretty lower, and no significant difference between them.While Ningqi3 has higher content of carotenoid,and the content in the rest of varieties carotenoid were not significant variation.(6) By using the method of principal component analysis and subject function to evaluate the comprehensive productive capacity of tested cultivars,Ningqi1,Ningqi3, Ningqi4, Ningqi5,Ningqi7,Mengqi1,Flat fruit medlar,07-2 and 0901.the conclusion we got are as follows:Ningqi3,Ningqi1,Flat fruit medlar, Ningqi4,Ningqi7,these five varieties is very suitable for planting on large area;and Ning qi 5, 0901 can be used as an auxiliary varieties to develop.but Mengqi1,and 07-2 are not suitable for large area development.
