By analyzing the present development situation of kiwifruit industry, enumerating the advanced experience in the quality safety of kiwifruit in advanced countries(e.g. New Zealand), this paper investigated the kiwifruit status of the quality safety and production of kiwifruit from production, storing, dealing, processing, marketing and economic benefit in Shaanxi Province. Additionally,via the experiment, field survey, data analysis, investigating product technology, the use of input, postharvest handling and production environment, we find the main factors that influence the kiwifruit quality and safety. Combining with the producing practice, we put forward some effective measures to improve the quality and safety of kiwifruit in Shaanxi. Our aim is to reduce the gap between Shaanxi and other countries, accelerate the kiwifruit industry transition from the large province of industry to the industrial province, and make it truly to provide help for farmers’ rich. The main results are as follows:1. The factors that influence the quality safety of kiwifruit in Shaanxi Province(1) The lag of planting technology, low degree of standardization: This mainly in technology, Neglecting the pollination leads low fruit shape index; Paying only attention to production,ignoring the fruit quality and making excessive fruits lead the weakness of kiwifruit tree, the resistance declined, and the ulceration。(2) The disorder of production, overuse chemicals: ignoring the use of the organic manure to pursuit the yield and excessive utilizing fruit-expander, fertilizer, etc, cause the weakness of the trees and the decline of the fruit quality. It is also one of the important reasons for disease.(3) The improper postharvest handling leads to low eatable rate: to achieve the profits, picking fruits early leads to low nutrient accumulation and poor fruit quality. In order to extend market supply, useing preservatives and low down the storage temperature when storing the fruit make fruits cannot achieve its physiological aging. At the same time, cold damage and cold injury make fruit rotten. Another main factor that effects the quality of the fruit is purchasing system and the extensive manage methods;(4) The serious environmental pollution causes the decline of fruit quality: in recent years, more sand extraction factories are opened near the kiwifruit producing area in Shaanxi. Kiwifruit polluted by dust and vehicle exhaust pollution. Part of heavy metal content exceeds bid makes a potential threat to consumers’ health.2. Some effective routes to improve the quality safety of kiwifruit in Shaanxi province(1) Implementing standardization cultivation technology,raise the level of management, plan orchard with vine canopy frame, training with pinnate branch, reasonable ratio among branch, leaves and fruit, and pollination with commercial kiwifruit pollen.(2) Prohibit the input of highly toxic and high residue products; strictly control the use of chemical synthesis hormones; Prohibit the use of fruit expanding agent, prohibited pesticides, fruit fresh, and chemical fertilizer; increasing application of organic fertilizer, improve soil organic matter content.(3) Developing standard for harvesting and storage, strict fruit quality: the implementation of non-destructive testing technology, use dry matter content to determine the maturity, use variety characteristics to determine the storage temperature, Completely eradicate early pick, formulate scientific management system to ensure the fruit quality.(4) Purify the plant environment to reduce the secondary pollution to fruit: strengthen propaganda and improve the ecological condition by reducing dust pollution. Establish green isolation by using fruit bagging to control the fruit surface pollution.(5) Establish a system to make sure the kiwi fruit quality supervision and perfect regulation system. Build the system to test the agricultural products quality safety certification level, formulate preferential policies to achieve higher price with better quality to promote the improvement of quality of kiwi fruit.
