Focusing on the Pennisetum sp., the preliminary study was conducted on the aspects of drought press and key cultivation technologies. It was also analyzed the fruiting body nutrient and the reuse of waste substrate of Pennisetum sp. The main results of the study are as follows:1. By using the method of PEG-6000, it was studied the impact of physiological characters changes on the leaves, under different press concentrations. The result showed that, followed with the increase of press, the chlorophyll, water content, relative electrical conductivity (EC) and soluble protein content decreased, appearing the obvious negative correlation with press concentration. The content of soluble polysaccharide (SS) increased, the content of malondialdehyde (MDA) increased and then decreased later, while the content of proline (Pro) decreased and then increased. The changes of all five dictators appeared obvious positive correlation with press concentration.2. Through the three level system selection method, Pleurotus ostreatus was cultivated by using Pennisetum sp. It was achieved the best composition formula of Pennisetum sp., including 42% of Pennisetum sp.,35% of Dicranopteris dichotoma,20% of wheat bran,2% of gypsum and 1% of lime, respectively. The unit yield of this formula reached 770.76g/bag, with the 102.77% biological efficiency.3. The nutrient content of Pleurotus ostreatus differs by different cultivated materials. The research result showed that, the content of essential amino acid in Pleurotus ostreatus is high by using Pennisetum sp.as cultivated materials, reaching 40.12%. The contents of ash and total sugar by using Pennisetum sp. are obvious higher then that by using cottonseed shell. The crude protein content reached 28.37%, while crude fat was only 1.42% by using Pennisetum sp. as cultivated materials. It is the food with high protein and low fat greatly, that is different from the Pleurotus ostreatus cultivated by cottonseed shell.4. The result of the study showed that, waste Pleurotus ostreatus substrate has good effect on the growth of Pennisetum sp.
