| Broiler industry in China has developed rapidly since 1980s, and has evolved into mature industrialization and marketization, and has reached to top scale in food animal husbandry. With the expansion of workforce constantly, and continuous improvement of equipment, great achievement has been achieved. Poultry industry not only solved the rural labor force unemployment, but also improved our dietary structure and local economy level. With rapid development of Chinese economy, customers now prefer higher quality, more delicious, safer and cheaper meat products. Meanwhile our poultry development lagged the market. Many factors restrict the development, such as different cultivation mode and breed in different regions. Irregular resources allocation(land, capital, labor, management, environmental protection, etc.), unstabilized market and loemia. In Shandong province, whose poultry breeding is intensive. By changing the traditional breeding mode, choosing caged broilers, farmers solved the irregular resources allocation, low efficiency, and high incidence of disease in WeiFang, JiaoDong, LuXi district. Through the investigation and record of 625 large-scale farms (households) in Luxi, Jiaodong, Linyi, Weifang region, we analyzed the superiority and sustainable development space of caged poultry in Shandong Province. Including the contrast factors, such as breeding scale, breeding mode, costs, labor input, breed achievement ratio, incidence, efficiency and so on.The investigation analysis indicated:1. The breeding mode of caged broilers reduce the occupancy rates of the land, increases the utilization of the land, and doubles the farming quantity in unit area (breeding density:8-10 broilers/m2, plane network:10-12 broilers/m2, caged:16 to 18 broilers/m2), which not only meet the residents’demand for high quality broilers products, but also reduce the area of cultivated land illegally occupied, furthermore basic farmland was protected.2. By improving the house construction and equipment, the poultry breed has switched to the new track, that is "people manipulating equipment, equipment keep broilers, broilers keep people". The number of broilers has increased by 0.6-0.8 times than that of the unit labor managed, and the number of caged poultry was achieved to 10 000-12 000. The advanced equipment has create a good living environment of the broilers group, reduce the disease incidence by 20%, drug use and drug residues, and ensure food safety.3. The breeding mode of caged broilers increases the breed efficiency, bring down the cost of investment, and promote the benign circulation of the aviculture. In recent two years, rising cost of raw materials, manpower and land, market fluctuation, low consumption level, and the failing profit, all of them lead to free-range exit the broilers industry. Now the important issue is how to make large-scale farms have profits and can continue to benign development in the current domestic poultry. So the key point is to reduce the investment, avoid the risk(breeding risk and market risk), and increase the success rate. The clinical investigation concluded:caged broilers can raise efficiency RMB 0.8-1.8 higher, compared to net-rearing and floor-rearing. It can satisfy the current breeding profit targets, so the method is worth promoting.4.The technology of caged poultry improve environment, build up resistance, and reduce the incidence rate about 22.5%(colibacillosis,18.4%; respiratory tract diseases, 33.5%; coccidiosis,40.3%; enteritis,52.4%; viral disease,14.8%; and other,15.4%), the performance trait of broilers is improved, reduce the death rate and cost, and improve the FGR about 0.1-0.18, slaughter 2-3 days in advance. |
