Urban landscape plant community is the important carrier of urban landscape, and different plant community shapes different urban style. Reflecting urban culture with plant landscape and showing a distinctive regional characteristics of the urban landscape is particularly important. Qingdao and Xuzhou are both located in the south warm temperate zone in our country. Through conservation-oriented evaluation and scenic beauty estimation of plant communities in Qingdao and Xuzhou, explore the plant community characteristics in the two cities. It provides basis for conservation-oriented plant community configuration in the two cities and even south warm temperate zone. It also provides a reference for building conservation-oriented urban landscape.Through basic data collection and field investigation, measurement, drawing and taking photos of plant community, scientifically build conservation-oriented evaluation system of urban landscape plant communities with AHP and evaluate the 60 plant communities of the two cities. And then, use questionnaire survey method for plant community SBE. Based on the analysis of the result of conservation-oriented evaluation and scenic beauty estimation, discuss different types of typical plant community cases. The main research results are as follows:(1) Study on urban landscape plant community characteristics in Qingdao and XuzhouThe plant community survey was conducted and 133 plant species which belong to 46 families and 87 genera were detected in Qingdao, 153 plant species which belong to 60 families and 112 genera were detected in Xuzhou. In the distribution pattern, the proportion of native tree species are more than 45%, and the main tree species are deciduous trees, the seasonal change is very rich. Landscape plants in Qingdao and Xuzhou reflect the strong temperate, tropical and subtropical components are relatively abundant. It reflects the transitional characteristics of the flora. Diversity index and evenness index: arbor layer > shrub layer in Qingdao, shrub layer>arbor layer in Xuzhou. The application of herbaceous plants in Qingdao is relatively lacking, and it has great potential in design. Increasing the application of a biennial and perennial herbaceous plants, especially native wild flowers, could enrich the ground cover plant landscape. Plant communities in Qingdao and Xuzhou can be divided into needle broadleaf type, evergreen-needle type, defoliation broadleaf type, evergreen-defoliation broadleaf type. The structure of plant communities is multiple structure combined with arbor, shrub and herbaceous. Qingdao is given priority to needle broadleaf type, and Xuzhou is given priority to evergreen-defoliation broadleaf type. Qingdao and Xuzhou are rich in half open space, and use more covering space.(2) Economical evaluation and Scenic Beauty Estimation of urban landscape plant community in Qingdao and XuzhouIn the conservation-oriented evaluation system, sort of rule layer weights: ecology = economy > water saving>land saving, sort of factor layer weights: growth condition > maintenance cost > local vegetation > drought resistance > species diversity > level abundance > species richness > water consumption > vertical planting. Value of ecology and economy rises along with the rank of plant community, average value of growth condition and species diversity rises along with the rank of plant community. Ecology and economy have important influence on economy. The rank of economy focus on Ⅱ、Ⅲ、Ⅳ, and there are 7 communities of rank Ⅰ accounted for 12%. The construction of conservation-oriented urban landscape plant community still has great room to improve. Combined with the result of SBE, summarize and analyze the typical cases from 4 aspects of plant community with water, architecture, road and square, and simple plant community. The results show that different types of communities differ in configuration and characteristics, also in the level of economy. Plant community of water shows the best on the SBE and conservation-oriented evaluation, its ecology, water saving and economy are more prominent and it choose more drought tolerance and native species. Simple plant community shows the best on ecology because of its rich species, species diversity and good growth status. But the high cost of maintenance and management leads to the worst economy. Plant community of architecture slightly lacks in ecology. In scenic beauty, plant community with complex hierarchy, good growth and rich seasonal changes is more prominent. Plant community of water is generally higher than plant community of land. Among them, the SBE of plant community of road and square is lowest.(3) Study on urban landscape plant community characteristics and optimization model in Qingdao and XuzhouQingdao and Xuzhou are similar in terms of climate, plant flora and landscape plant, they are dominated by defoliation species and have distinct seasonal characteristics. Because of their specific geographical location, climate, topography and other aspects of the difference as well as the influence of history and culture, the plant community shows characteristics of region. The plant community in Qingdao is full of exotic, and integrated into the marine culture. It shows characteristics of mountains and sea. Xuzhou is good at creating plant communities of strong regional culture with local natural landscape. Based on the plant communities of high degree of conservation-oriented and scenic beauty estimation, the configuration models of different plant communities are constructed.
