Flower and fruit thinning and bagging are important measures in high quality fruit production, which have been widely used in viticulture and peach, apple, pear cultivation. In the actual production, however, differences in varieties, regions and cultivating methods and lack of variety-matching, scientific and standardized management always result in pre-harvest fruit drop and the poor performance in commodity and nutrition of fruit. This paper using’Chi Yue’and’Chi Hu Jing’, which are peach varieties newly introduced in Jiaxing, Zhejiang in recent years as experimental materials, and respectively using once, twice, three times the number of three different fruit thinning and white, yellow, newspaper three different fruit bags, combining with the fruit growth process monitoring, studies the effect of different treatments on the pre-harvest fruit drop, maturation stage and fruit quality of the two peach varieties, in order to provide technical support for local peach production. The results are as follows:1.In the use of different kinds of fruit bags, there was no dehiscent fruit among all three kinds of bagging fruit. Two varieties in newspaper bags both show high fruit weight but low soluble solid content, poor color, late mature and high fruit drop rate. For ’Chi Yue’, fruits in yellow bags show early mature, lowest fruit drop rate and high comprehensive quality. So we suggest to use yellow bags in ’Chi Yue’ cultivation. For ’Chi Hu Jing’, fruits in white bags show lowest fruit drop rate, late mature and high comprehensive quality. we suggest to use yellow bags in ’Chi Hu Jing’ cultivation.2. On the number of fruit thinning, we believe the three times thinning is more appropriate. Fo ’Chi Yue’, the time of fruit thinning is respectively at about 38 days,47 days and 55 days after flowering. For ’Chi Hu Jing’, the time of fruit thinning is respectively at about 40 days,49 days and 60 days after flowering.3.The trend of peach fruit drop increases gradually during the development process, and gets serious after entering mature period. For ’Chi Yue’, this phenomenon is especially obvious, so we suggest to finish harvesting fruits in early and middle July (about 107 days after full-blossom stage). For’Chi Hu Jing’, we suggest to finish harvesting fruits in early and middle August (about 140 days after full-blossom stage).
