Assessment On Landscape Quality In Stands Of Typical Scenic And Recreational Forests In Suburbs In Beijing

Assessment on landscape quality in stands plays an important role in the management of scenic and recreational forests.On the basis of comprehensive survey on scenic and recreational forests—Platycladus orientalis and Pinus tabulaeformis in mountains,142 model plots were set, his paper evaluated 110 different photos of in-forest landscape using scenic beauty estimation method after choosing these photos, and studied the typical elements which may have effect on in-forest landscape in order to provide a theoretical basis and reference value for the management.The results showed that there were remarkable correlations between scenic beauty and the factors such as perspective distance,branch height, undergowth coverage, shurb height and coverage, and the species composition also influenced the scenic beauty, different mixed type had different beauty, and the mixed forests have higher beauty than pure forests.This article also did questionnaire on 11 experts, and constructed the evaluation in-forest landscape index system of the scenic and recreational forest using AHP, including 5 projects,22 indicators and 68 categories. Through AHP, the order of all the projects contributed to in-forest landscape is forest aesthetics indicators>forest health indicators>stand structure indicators>the ground layer characteristic indicators>forest tree measurement indicators. In all indicators, the top five is litters, dead and fallen trees, contrast level, the perspective distance and color richness. The average height, the average diameter and the average branch height have the lowest contribution.After assigning, the values of Platycladus orientalis and Pinus tabulaeformis are 40.30 and 42.19, meaning that the landscape quality of Platycladus orientalis and Pinus tabulaeformis in suburbs of Beijing is only at the medium level.
