Water quality monitoring is an important task and currently there are three types of systems to achieve that:the fixed single point monitoring, the fixed multipoint monitoring, and the mobile monitoring. The fixed multipoint monitoring systems are used most widely, whereas they have the drawback of small detection range and high cost. And the client computer is a main way for users to view monitoring records, whereas it has the drawback of inconvenient to carry. In order to meet the needs of users to monitor the water quality of large area breeding sites at any time and place, this paper developed a wireless remote monitoring system based on the Internet of things, which combines the fixed point measurement and the mobile measurement.The system is composed of three parts, the wireless sensor network, the monitoring server and the client. Among them, the wireless sensor network through the ZigBee protocol communication, the core chip is CC2530 of TI company. The network contains fixed sensor nodes, a mobile sensor node, control nodes and a sink node. The sensor nodes send the collected water quality information to the sink node through the tree network structure, then the sink node sends the data to the remote monitoring server through the GPRS module. Users can use Android client to observe real-time changes in water quality information, or can also query the latest data through the WeChat public number. The hardware part of the system was designed for wireless sensor networks, including the designs of CC2530 minimum system circuit, sensor circuit, communication interface circuit, GPS module and power supply module. In the part of system software design, this paper completed the secondary development of the ZigBee protocol stack based on IAR software, Writing program of data acquisition. In addition, it completed the server program design by the VB.NET language in the Studio Visual 2010 environment, developed the Android client by Java language, and then realized the development of WeChat public number by PHP language with the help of WeChat public platform. This system can achieve not only the information collection, processing and storage of water temperature, pH, dissolved oxygen, but also realizes the remote control of the control node. It was not limited by time and place, easy operation, and reliable performance. This lower machine can not only be used as a part of the whole monitoring system, but also can be used as a field monitoring system.The system was actually debugged in the modern aquaculture base in Yangzhong City, Jiangsu Province. The result showed that the system communication was stable and reliable. The server can run stably for a long time, and the client can update the data in a timely and accurate manner. The collected data conforms to the actual variation law. Overall, this design has high practicability and good accuracy, and can meet the requirements of intelligent aquaculture data remote wireless monitoring.
