| This study was focused on the quantity variation and spatial distribution of flower, flowering synchronicity and fruit of clones, and seed characters in seed orchard of Phellodendrom amurense. Our study provided a reference for management of the seed orchard. The results were as follows:(1) There were significant variations in different in flower quantitative traits of female and male in four blocks in the seed orchard. The flowers of individual plant had the largest coefficient variation(36.2%) and the flowers of individual inflorescence was minimum(6%). There was significant difference about flower amount of individual plant between different blocks and different clones, and main variation source was block. There was significant variation about flower amount between different vertical directions and different horizontal directions in the canopy.The flower of overstory was significantly more than that of understory, and the different direction from more to less for the south, west, east and north, respectively.(2) There was no obvious difference between female inflorescence and male inflorescence, whereas the flowers amount in male inflorescence was more than that in female. The largest flowering frequency duration of different clones was shorter in Hei H â… block and Lin H â… block. There were significant variations about early flowering, peak flowering and late flowering between clones in the two groups. Early groups, middle groups and late groups were clustered according to peak flowering.Variances of flowering synchronizations was significant differenance, which was from0.17(H1F1×H1M2) to 0.93(L1F2×L1M3).(3) The coefficient variation was different in fruiting and seed between clones in Hei H â… block and Lin H â… block, which was from 4.6% to 45.6%. There was significant variation in all the traits except seed width and seed thick in Hei Hâ… blockand seed thick in Lin H â… block. The repeatability of seeding were 0.88 and 0.76 respectively in two groups. The results from multiple stepwise regression analysis indicated that flowers amount was the main factor affect seed yield, and thousand seed weight was main factor affect field emergence rate in two blocks.(4) Comprehensive principal component model was constructed according to growth, flowers, yield, and seed. The results suggested that score of clones from high to low was H1F8, H1F6, H1F7, H1F1, H1F4, H1F5, H1F2 and H1F3 respectively in Hei Hâ… block, and score of clones from high to low L1F1, L1F5, L1F3, L1F6, L1F2,L1F8, L1F7 and L1F4 respectively in Lin Hâ… block. |
