Expression And Clinical Pathological Significance Of IMP3, HIF-1α And TWIST Protein In Endometrial Carcinoma

Objective: To study the expression and significance of IMP3, HIF-1α and TWISTprotein in endometrial carcinoma and its correlation with clinical pathological features inendometrial carcinoma.Methods: In97cases of endometrial carcinoma, the expression of IMP3, HIF-1α andTWIST proteins were determined by the immunohistochemical staining respectively. Therelationship between these three proteins and clinical pathological features in theendometrial carcinoma were analyzed via χ2test and Spearman’s rank correlation analysis.The survival analysis was preformed by Kaplan-Meier’s method.Results:(1) In97cases of endometrial carcinoma, the positive rates of IMP3, HIF-1αand TWIST protein were68.0%,39.2%and57.7%, respectively (p＜0.05);(2) Theexpression of IMP3protein was significantly higher in type II endometrial carcinoma thantype I and there were also differences between each stage. The positive rates in poorlydifferentiated tissues were higher than median or high differentiation tissues. Theexpression of HIF-1α protein was more higher in later stage than early stage and in tissuesthat had myometrial invasion. TWIST protein was more accumulated in endometrialcarcinoma with lymph node metastasis than no metastasis;(3) Spearman’s rank correlationanalysis shown that IMP3was correlated with HIF-1α as well as HIF-1α and TWIST, butIMP3and TWIST wasn’t correlated;(4) The positive stains of IMP3, HIF-1α andTWIST correlated with unfavorable prognosis.Conclusions:(1) The expressions of IMP3, HIF-1α and TWIST could be thepredictors of the malignant degree of endometrial carcinoma;(2) The over-expressions ofIMP3, HIF-1α and TWIST correlated with the types of endometrial carcinoma and thedifferent stages;(3) The expressions of IMP3and HIF-1α were positive correlated,as wellas HIF-1α and TWIST, but IMP3and TWIST were not correlated;(4) The positive stainsof IMP3, HIF-1α and TWIST correlated with unfavorable prognosis.
