ObjectivesTo compare the difference of the cleaning effect, side-effect, the exist rate ofintestinal bubbles and polyp detection of3kinds of bowel preparation beforecolonoscopy and treatment. Study the clinical values application of3kinds of bowelpreparation before colonoscopy and treatment.Methods374patients of our hospital from August to October2014who preparing forcolonoscopy and treatment were randomly divided into three groups: fractional oralcompound polyethylene glycol electrolyte powder (group A, n=162), Single oralcompound polyethylene glycol electrolyte powder (group B, n=116) and oral castoroil (40ml)+20%mannitol (250ml)(group C, n=96). In each group, the degree ofcleansing wereⅠto Ⅳgrades, andⅠ+Ⅱgrades belong to qualified subgroup, whileⅢ+Ⅳ to unqualified subgroup. The cleaning effect was evaluated by comparing the pass rate of intestinalcleansing, adverse reactions, the exist rate of intestinal bubbles and polyps of eachgroup and each subgroup. The comparison of rates between each two groups were by chi-square test, and the comparison of mean differences between each two groupswere one-way ANOVA or t-test, P <0.05was considered statistically significant.ResultsThe effective rates of cleaning were respectively82.72%,81.03%,81.25%, andside-effect were22.22%,22.41%,25.00%, the exist rate of intestinal bubbles were29.01%,26.72%,27.08%,the average number of polyps found (detection rate) of3groups were0.778±0.975(48.15%),0.707±0.918(44.83%),0.813±1.104(41.67%).What is more, there were no statistical differences between these3groups (P>0.05).While, statistically significant difference between subgroups (P <0.05) were found inthe side-effect rates and the average number of polyps found (detection rate).Conclusions1. These3kinds of bowel preparation methods are safe, effective and have goodcleaning effect but little side effect.2. Single oral polyethylene glycol electrolyte powder method has the same intestinalcleansing effects compared with divided doses of polyethylene glycol electrolytepowder method. What is more, the process was much simple and can be used inclinical routine bowel preparation.3. The cleaning effect of20%mannitol with castor oil is certainly an ideal bowelpreparation method for those with no obvious contraindications.
