ObjectiveTo isolate a single chemical composition from Prinsepia utilis Royle, to identify its structure, and to determine total alkaloids and bacteriostatic activity of different alkaline alkaloids, providing theoretical basis for the development and utilization of the resources.MethodsTo extract the effective components in Prinsepia utilis Royle by Refluxing extraction; then to separate the effective components using silica gel column chromatography to obtain the monomer compounds and determine their structures through the physical and chemical properties, and methods of spectrum analysis; finally, preliminarily to study Prinsepia utilis Royle total alkaloid and bacteriostatic activity of different alkaline alkaloids using Times than dilution method by determining the minimum bacteriostatic concentration (MIC) and minimum bactericidal concentration (MBC).of the staphylococcus aureus, escherichia coli, shigella and candida albicans.ResultsSeven compounds extracted and isolated from the alcohol extraction solution of the raw material were the catechin, protocatechuic acid, beta sitosterol, sucrose, vanillic acid, p-hydroxy benzoic acid ethyl ester, and quercetin respectively; the minimum bacteriostatic concentrations of staphylococcus aureus, escherichia coli, shigella and candida albicans of Prinsepia utilis Royle total alkaloid were as follows:0.08mg/ml,0.625mg/ml,1.25mg/ml,2.5mg/ml; The minimum bactericidal concentrations (MBC) were0.16mg/ml,1.25mg/ml,2.5mg/ml,5mg/ml.: strong, middle or weak sex alkaloids in e.coli, staphylococcus aureus and shiga bacillus minimum bacteriostatic concentration (MIC) were0.6251.25mg/ml; The minimum bactericidal concentration is1.25mg/ml, and of candida albicans were0.15mg/ml,0.078mg/ml,0.031to0.062mg/ml; The minimum bactericidal concentrations were0.31mg/ml,0.15mg/ml,0.625mg/ml.
