Clinical Research On Direct Moxibustion For The Treatment Of Spastic Paralysis After Stroke

ObjectiveTo assess therapeutic effect on direct moxibustion(EX-B) for the treatment of spastic paralysis after stroke.MethodsAccording to the inclusion criteria,60Patients of spastic paralysis after stroke been selected by randomly were divided into treatment group and control group. Each one had30cases. The treatment group was treated by direct moxibustion, and the control group was treated by the only acupuncture. All the patients were treated one time per day, totally for ten consecutive days. The same regular basic drug therapy was given to both. I evaluated every case according to the following items before and after the ten days treatment:(1) Ashworth Spasticity Scale and Clinical Spasticity Index for assess spasticity.(2) Brunnstrom degree.(3) Fugl-Meyer assessment method.ResultAfter ten days,(1) The Spasticity of two groups decreased. The direct moxibustion treatment group had a total effective rate of90.00%. And3cases were cured,14cases were significant improved,9cases were improved,4cases had no effect. The other group had a total effective rate of76.0%. And3cases were cured,14cases were significant improved,9cases were improved,4cases had no effect. The difference between two groups was significant.(2) The scores of Brunnstrom degree and Fugl-Meyer assessment method were significant between two groups.(3) Direct moxibustion group had2cases of adverse reaction.ConclusionDirect moxibustion can alleviate spasticity. Both direct moxibustion and only acupuncture on Jiaji points are better than traditional acupuncture. But direct moxibustion is easier to had adverse reaction and doctor should pay more attention on it.
