Objective:To evaluate the efficacy and safety of NB-UVB,comparison With PUVA(PUVA+UVB) in patients with vulgar psoriasis. Method:103patients affected by vulgar chronic plaque psoriasis,of which48subjects were only radiated with narrow-band UVB,and55subjects were orally administered with8-MOP,0.6mg/kg body weight.2hours later radiated with UVA and UVB. All subjects were radiated3times per week,with8-week treatment duration. Result:After8-week treatment course, the basically effective rate in narrow-band group was81.3%,and signisicantly effective rate was20.1%. Where in the modified PUVA group, the basically effective rate was86.6%,and the significanty effective rate was13.4%.Adverse drug reactions:only some subjects in narrow-band group experienced mild erythema, pigmentation and reactions. But adverse drug reaction rate in modified PUVAgroup was41.3%,most of them were mild or moderate gastrointestinal reactions, pruititis and pigmentation etc. Radiation duration. The longest time was not longer than7minutes for narrow-band group, but it was up to30minutes for modified PUVA group subjects.Conclusion:Narrow-band group UVB has favorable effect for vulgar chronic plaque psoriasis.Though narrow-band UVB is a little less effective than modified PUVA method,it is simple to conduct, having no need to take drugs, with short radiation time and lower incidence of adverse reactions.
