Objective:To observe the efficacy of narrow-band ultraviolet B(UVB) in the treatment of psoriasis vulgaris and its effect on the quality of lifeMethods:A total of 120 patients, aged 18-65 years old, independent and voluntary completion of the quality of life survey, were treated with 311 nm narrow-band ultraviolet B radiation only which was performed one time every other day, totally for 20 times. The efficacy was evaluated by psoriasis area and severity index(PASI) score in the phototherapy ago, phototherapy 10 times, 20 times, calculated efficiency, recording the occurrence of adverse reactions, completed by the patients independent of the quality of life questionnaire filled out. Finally respectively PASI score and the quality of life total score(DQOLS),and the observation of the correlation between the two.Results:①Clinical therapeutic effect:Following the phototherapy, the PASI in lesions and DQOLS with psoriasis were gradually declined. When the tenth phototherapy,PASI in lesions and DQOLS were lower than that before. When the twentith phototherapy,PASI in lesions and DQOLS were lower than the tenth. There was a significant difference(P<0.0001).The most of lesions were completely regression. The clinical efficiency is 92.5%.②PASI score was positively correlated with DQOLS,with the skin symptoms dissipated, the quality of life of patients with psoriasis have a certain degree of improvement, and improving the quality of life in patients also helps skin symptoms eased。③No one cases were terminated due to adverse reactions in phototherapy process,56.7%(68/120) of patients arised in varying degrees of dry skin, itching, general immediately after each exposure to skin care external application symptoms eased. Majority of patients arised in varying degrees of pigmentation after irradiation positions 6-15,in the end pigmentation gradually dissipated about 3-5 months, near normal skin color or returned to normal.④120 patients with psoriasis, there are 26 cases of recurrence, the recurrence rate was 21.7%.Conclusions:Narrow-band UVB phototherapy in psoriasis vulgaris not only skin symptoms has been improved, but also the quality of life of patients has been enhanced, both positively correlated, the patient can tolerate, compliance is good, which could be a routine method of the disease as a one way.
