The Clinical Observation Of Shu Fu Decoction Plus Narrow-band UVB For Psoiasis Vulgaris

Objective: To evaluate the safety and efficacy of Shu fu Decoction plus Narrow-band Ultraviolet B,and to explore the mechanism of this treatment method,through observating its clinical effect and influence in quality of life in psoriasis patients.Methods: According to randomized,controlled experimental design method,60 psoriasis patients were randomly divided into treatment group and control group.Each group has 30 patients.Psoriasis patients in the treatment group exposed to narrow-band UVB after taking a bath with Shu fu Decoction,while the control group without herb-bath.They all need treatment four weeks and three times a week.We observe changes in the psoriasis area and severity of skin lesions(PASI),itching degree,Dermatology Life Quality Index(DLQI)scores before treatment and after 2 weeks and 4 weeks respectively and have a subsequent visit after three month.Results: After 2 weeks of treatment,the PASI scores,pruritus scores and DLQI scores in treatment group were respectively(8.53±1.86),(1.73±0.58)and(14.23±2.40),but(9.84±2.64),(2.10±0.55)and(16.03±2.51)in control group,and the difference was statistically significant(P <0.05).The scores in PASI,pruritus and DLQI were decreased after 4 weeks.The treatment group achieved scores were(5.17±2.19),(1.17±0.59)and(9.97±2.41),while those were(6.44±2.19),(1.10±0.40)and(11.53±1.89)in control group.Unlike the results of 2 weeks ago,the scores of pruritus have no statistical difference(P > 0.05).The efficiency of reatment group was 83.33%,which was significantly higher than that of control group(60.00%),and lower frequency of adverse reactions and relapse rate were observed.Conclusion: The combination of Shu fu Decoction and Narrow-band UVB is a safe,effective approach for treating psoriasis vulgaris,which can reduce pruritus and approve life quality.
