Objective:1. Discussion of value and performance in Susceptihility eighted Imaging (SWI) and Magnetic Resonance Venography(MRV) technology to normal brain vein.2. Discussion the examination value and image performance in Susceptihility weighted Imaging(SWI) and Magnetic Resonance Venography(MRV) technology to cerebral vein thrombosis(CVT).Material and Method:Select from March2013to March2014during the Second Xiangya Hospital, Central South University neurology clinic, according to2006standards Ahmed Idbaih of the clinical and imaging diagnosis of cerebral venous thrombosis in20patients (12males,8females,meanage45±2.22). A normal group of40patients included17males,23females,meanage34±1.23yeas.All cases underwent plain MRI scan, MRV, and SWI. MRV and SWI images were compared for the display rate and quality of the superior sagittal sinus, inferior sagittal sinus, transverse sinus, sigmoid sinus, and cerebral medullary veins. Normal cerebral veins and thrombosed cerebral veins were observed and analysed. Results:1.Comparison of SWI and MRV for the normal cerebral veins: SWI comparison MRV transverse sinus, sigmoid sinus and straight sinus showed no significant difference (P=0.01); MRV higer on Shows rate of superior sagittal sinus (P<0.05), MRV higer on Shows rate of sigmoid sinus (P<0.01). Two methods were statistically significant. MRV and SWI two methods contrast on the quality of the transverse sinus, sigmoid sinus and straight sinus was statistically significant (P<0.01). SWI and MRV of great cerebral vein and internal cerebral vein showed no statistically significant (P=1). SWI and MRV on basal vein, showed statistically significant different (P<0.01). Display branch of deep venous system by SWI was better than MRV, was statistically significant (P<0.01). In normal cerebral venous sinus imaging, more variation in Transverse sinus, right-dominant type (47.5%); left-dominant type,23%; balanced bilaterally29.5%. I n Deep vein, more variation in basal vein.2. Comparison of cerebral veins thrombosis in SWI and MRV: In shows rate of MRV better than SWI (P<0.01),In cerebral hemorrhage and dilation of medullary vein, SWI better than MRV (P<0.01). Edema and infarction difference in the two methods was not significant. Conclusion:MRV shows venous sinus more clearly tnan SWI, But for smaller basal veins and medullary veins, SWI was superior to MRV. More variations in image anatomical of normal brain venous system.MRV good on display of cerebral venous thrombosis, SWI is better than MRV for detection of bleeding and expansion of medullary verns.
