Backgroud:In recent years, more and more attention had paid in the potential relationship of hormone and its receptor with lung cancer. Mostly tudies have indicated that:estrogen and its receptor is one of the factors in particular to promote the progress of lung cancer, especially the female lung cancer. While conclusions of study about progesterone receptors in lung cancer results is quite controversial. Our previous studies detected the expression of mPRa in A549cell lines, and mPRa functioned as a vital mediator for P4and/or PP1induced inhibitory effects on cell migaration and invasion of A549cell lines. This study we detect the expression of mPRa in non-small cell lung cancer tissues and its relationship with clinicopathological features. Objectives:In this study, we aim to observe the expression of mPRa in non-small cell lung cancer tissue and its relationship with clinicopathological features of lung cancer, and explore the underlying mechanism. Methods:Expression of mPRa protein in cancer tissue and surrounding normal lung tissue of NSCLC were detected by western blot.Immunohistochemistry was performed to detect the expression levels of mPRa in NSCLC and benign lung diseases and its relationship with pathological features such as age, gender, smoking history, pathology, TNM, comprehensive stage.Results:1、All types of NSCLC were mPRa protein positive, and mPRa was detected in both membrane and cytoplasm of the cells.2、The average intensities of mPRa expression was higher in the≥65age group than in the<65age group. In the level of differentiation, the expression of mPRa was higher in poorly differentiation group than in high differentiation group.3、MPRa protein expressed in inflammatory cell which infiltrated in bronchiectasis organization.4、In all of the cancerous tissue and normal tissue of lung adenocarcinoma and squamous carcinoma, we can detect the mPRa protein. The expression of mPRa in cancerous tissue is higher than in normal tissue.Conclusion:1、We firstly demonstrated that mPRa was expressed in all the subtype of NSCLC tissues, and mPRa were detected in both cell membrane and cytolymph. 2、The mPRa expression in NSCLC tissue is higher than in normal lung tissue, and poorly differentiation group has higher level of mPRa expression than the high group. These implied that mPRa may participate in the development of NSCLC.3、Average intensities of mPRa expression in the≥65age group is higher than the<65age group, which implied that there are age differences exist on the expression of mPR a.
