| As one of the usual diseases relating to brain vessels, stroke has been aterrible threat, with its high death rates and disability rates, to people’shealth. Consequently, it is of great importance to reduce the deaths anddisabilities resulting from stroke. Studies show that10%of the strokepatients have died from pulmonary embolism, which is usually caused bythe thrombus in the veins of the lower limbs. This means the prevention ofthe blockage in the lower limbs can help decrease the consequences ofstroke. Currently, the therapies to guard against the blockage are as thefollowing: physical activity, wearing the stretch hose, anticoagulation andair compression. However, the therapies mentioned above have limitedclinical applications due to their own uncertain curative effects anddifferent side effects. Which to be chosen as the treatment against theblockage is vital to help the patients. This thesis is going to talk about thedefinition of the thrombus in the veins of lower limbs, its symptoms, andthe curative ways to it as well as their advantages and disadvantages. |
