ObjectiveTo investigate the expression and significance of Toll-like receptor7(TLR7) and Myeloid differentiation factor88(MyD88) in actinic keratosis(AK), Bowen disease (BD) and cutaneous squamous cell carcinoma (SCC).MethodsThe expression of TLR7and MyD88in AK (22cases), BD (20cases),SCC (23cases) and normal skin tissue (20cases) were detected withimmunohistochemistry. Then statistical analysis was performed on theexpression of TLR7and MyD88, and correlation between the two index.ResultsTLR7was found in cytoplasm, and the amount of positive expressionsin the SCC, BD,AK and normal skin groups were calculated by integraloptical density values (IOD). The expressions were195.68±3.30、37.93±1.91、26.12±1.68、5.05±0.62, and differences between groups weresignificant (p<0.01). MyD88expressed in cytoplasm, the values of IOD in SCC, BD, AK and normal skin groups were146.70±3.65、55.36±6.65、8.65±1.14、3.03±0.83,which were totally different in each group (p<0.01).Furthermore,expression of TLR7was positively correlated with that ofMyD88(r=0.97, p<0.01).ConclusionThe increased expression of TLR7and MyD88might be involved inpathogenesis of actinic keratosis, Bowen disease and cutaneous squamouscell carcinoma. And in the epidermal benign and malignant transformingprocess, the expression was increased, which might be associated with thedevelopment of cutaneous squamous cell carcinoma. The expression ofTLR7was positively correlated with that of MyD88, which suggesting thatTLR7might upregulate the expression of MyD88by TLR7pathway in thedevelopment of the above diseases.
